摘要: In a power transmission apparatus of viscous coupling type, when two first and second output shafts (15, 25) are kept rotated at two big different speeds for many hours as when the ordinary tire is replaced with a spare tire, temperature and pressure within viscous fluid rise abnormally high. In this case, viscous coupling limit slip differential mode is switched to a free differential mode by means of a movable clutch shaft (33). Further, it is also preferable to directly couple the first and second output shafts to obtain a differential lock mode when the vehicle is travelling on muddy road.

摘要: To realize a small-sized differential gear provided with both differential limiting and locking functions simultaneously without markedly modifying the conventional differential case, the differential gear comprises a differential mechanism having a differential case (49), pinion shafts (63), pinion gears (69), two side gears (71, 73), etc.; two frictional multiplate clutches (83, 85) disposed between the two side gears and two inner side wall surfaces of the differential case, respectively for limiting differential function; a lock clutch (87) disposed within the differential case for generating two opposite direction thrust forces to engage said limit multiplate clutches into engagement and further locking the differential function; and actuator for actuating the lock clutch from outside of the differential case.

摘要: A torque divider for distributing the engine torque in a determined torque dividing ratio includes a case (3) which is driven and rotated by an engine and which has first and second supporting holes (53,55). In the torque divider first and second side gears (11,13) are arranged side by side. The second side gear (13) has a predetermined radius (R₂) larger than that (R₁) of the first side gear (11). First and second pinion gears (57,59) are housed inside the first and second supporting holes (53,55), respectively. The first and second pinion gears (57,59), respectively, have first and second gear parts (61,63). The first gear parts (61) of the first and second pinion gears (57,59) are meshed with each other; the second gear part (63) of the first pinion gear (57) is meshed with the first side gear (11); and the second gear part (63) of the second pinion gear (59) is meshed with the second side gear (13).

摘要: The planetary differential assembly can split driving torque generated by an engine of a vehicle into two parts at an appropriate ratio to realize an optimum driving condition of the vehicle in traveling even when one of driving wheels of the vehicle loses traction on a bad-condition road. The above appropriate splitting of the driving torque is accomplished by applying a braking torque to each of component gears of a planetary gear set of the assembly. Such braking torque is produced: by reducing at least one of backlashes between these component gears to a possible minimum amount; and/or by roughing an outer peripheral surface of each of pins (13, 16) on which the components gears (10) are rotatably supported, respectively; and/or by roughing an inner peripheral surface of each of central through-holes of the component gears, through which surface each of the gears is brought into a slidable contact with each of the pins.
