Abstract:
Pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) apparatuses and methods of making and using them. In particular, described herein are two-part PEMF apparatuses that include a self-contained, lightweight, small, compact (e.g., in some variations, wearable) generator unit that is adapted to releasably and replaceably mate with an applicator unit. The generator unit typically includes a power source and a controller that generated PEMF waveforms to be applied, including the shape and timing of the PEMF waveforms. The applicator unit typically includes a radio frequency (RF) power amplifier, a loop antenna, and impedance matching circuitry for matching the impedances for the connection between the antenna loop and the RF power amplifier. Thus, the generator module may control the application of PEMF signals without requiring impedance matching between the separable generator unit and the applicator unit. The applicator unit can include a plurality of variable capacitors that can be used to tune the PEMF signals.
Abstract:
There is provided a device that requires the presence of a textile or fabric; and a flexible and conformable light source apparatus attached to the textile or fabric, where the light source apparatus requires: at least one light source; at least two conductive members having a first end and a second end, the first end is connected to the at least one light source and the second end is adapted to connect to a power source; and at least one transparent polymer layer that encapsulates the entirety of the at least one light source and at least part of the at least two conductive members.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a camera head mount comprising: a strap for encircling the head and means for securing the strap around the head to prevent or hinder slippage of the camera head mount once secured in its mounted position; a camera holding pocket provided on the strap and situated such that when the camera head mount is secured in its mounted position the camera holding pocket is adapted to hold a camera in a forward-facing position against the forehead of the user, the lens of a mounted camera pointing forwards and through a lens aperture provided in the camera holding pocket at the front thereof, the camera holding pocket otherwise being adapted substantially to enclose a camera therein in a mounted and supported position on the forehead of the user.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an optical signalling device, especially for an item of clothing, consisting of at least two active actively illuminated light sources (5), which are preferably designed to emit differently coloured light and are connected to a control circuit (3) which activates the light sources (5) in a predeterminable sequence and is connected to a switch, sensor or the like (2) by means of which it can be manually activated and/or deactivated. In order to provide an optical signalling device which can be activated not only manually by also externally, the light sources (5) can be activated by manual controls (switch position I) or remote control (switch position II). The light sources (5) can be activated by the remote control via a receiver (4). It is thus possible for a number of optical signalling devices to be activated simultaneously by a co-ordinator or automatically, e.g. big meetings, thus producing an enhanced optical efficiency. According to one feature of the invention, the colours of the light sources may be matched to given clubs, organisations or nationalities.
Abstract:
Apparatus for applying Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to a patient, the apparatus including a head mount for disposition on the head of a patient; and a plurality of magnet assemblies for releasable mounting on the head mount, wherein each of the magnet assemblies includes a magnet for selectively providing a rapidly changing magnetic field capable of inducing weak electric currents in the brain of a patient so as to modify the natural electrical activity of the brain of the patient; wherein the number of magnet assemblies mounted on the head mount, their individual positioning on the head mount, and their selective provision of a rapidly changing magnetic field is selected so as to allow the spatial, strength and temporal characteristics of the magnetic field to be custom tailored for each patient, whereby to provide patient-specific TMS therapy, to assist in diagnosis or to map out brain function in neuroscience research.
Abstract:
A garment, accessory or clothing appendage, for example and in particular, but not exclusively, a hat (1) or a helmet, comprises acoustic warning means suitable for emitting an acoustic alarm in response to the user's speed. For such a purpose, a mechanical or electronic whistle (2) is provided, an air-inlet passage of which faces in the direction of motion of the user, thereby the acoustic alarm is caused directly by the aerodynamic flow resulting from the motion.
Abstract:
Abstract:
