Abstract:
According to the invention, a mounting support device and method are provided for supporting an assembly technicianat mounting, in particular of an aircraft or a spacecraft. The device is in the form of a garment (2, 38) for the mounting technician, comprising: - an amount of chambers (4, 6, 72, 8), which are integrated in areas of the fabric (10) of the garment (2, 38) and which are prepared to be filled with a gas by means of a connector (12) for a gas pressure source (14); - at least one sensor (20) unit (18) being prepared to measure gas pressure in different single and/or groups of the chambers (4, 6, 72, 8); - an operations status control unit (18) for producing and/or adjusting an operations status signal and - at least one pressure control unit (18) prepared to adjust the respective gas pressure depending on the gas pressure measured in the respective chambers (4, 6, 72, 8) and depending on an operations status signal. The method, preferably by means of such device, comprises the steps of: - producing and/or receiving at least one operation status signal by means of the operations status control unit (18); - inflating and/or deflating at least one of the chambers (4, 6, 72, 8) through the connector (12) triggered by the operation status signal; - measuring the pressure in the at least one chamber (4, 6) by means of the at least one sensor (20) unit (18); and - controlling and adjusting the pressure in the at least one chamber (4, 6) by means of the pressure control unit (26) depending on the gas pressure measured in the respective chambers (4, 6, 72, 8) and depending on an operations status signal.
Abstract:
A bomb disposal suit (16) includes a jacket (24), trousers (14), and a back protector (20) connected between the jacket and the trousers. The back protector includes a body of impact resistant material having a plenum with an intake opening (100) to receive forced air and with outlet openings to direct forced air out of the plenum. A fan forces air into the intake opening. The back protector can transmit load vertically from the jacket to the trousers, for example, via a back plate.
Abstract:
Glove structures may include front and back portions. A knuckle support assembly may be attached to the back portion. The knuckle support assembly may include a knuckle support member having at least one cutout coincident with at least one metacarpophalangeal joint and a flexible member extending across the at least one cutout. The knuckle support member may have a greater flexural stiffness than the back portion. The material of the knuckle support member may be more elastically stretchable than the material of the back portion. The material of the flexible member may be more elastically stretchable than the material of the back portion. The knuckle support member may be molded to the flexible member. Alternatively, the knuckle support member and the flexible member may be fuse bonded to one another. Methods for making such glove structures are also provided.
Abstract:
A knee pad holding mechanism (10A) for holding a knee pad (12) over the knee region of a pantleg (14) having a first length of fabric material (18) and a second length of fabric material (20) operatively secured together to form a pocket (22), the pocket being sized and shaped to receive a knee pad (12) and having at least one opening (24A) located along each of the outside edges of the pocket (22) for receiving a strap (16) associated with the knee pad (12). In one embodiment, the first length of fabric material (18) can be secured directly to the knee region of a pantleg (14) wherein the pantleg (14) forms the second length of fabric material (20). Other embodiments include using a loop, eyelet, slits or an additional section of fabric having a slit associated therewith for receiving a strap (16) associated with the knee pad (12). The present mechanism is also adaptable for use to receive an elbow pad.
Abstract:
A kneepad (10) includes a front (20), top (12), bottom (14) and first (16) and second (18) lateral sides and a stretchable band (30) attached to the kneepad (10) to form at least one channel to snugly releasably receive an implement (42).
Abstract:
A glove with optimized safety markings designed to improve worker safety in hazardous environments by increasing the visibility of the glove in the work environment and more easily distinguishing between the front and back of the glove. A preferred embodiment has fluorescent yellow hazard stripes, fluorescent yellow triangular safety icon and black negative space within the safety icon, all on protective members. The protective members, black in color except for the fluorescent yellow portions, are attached to the glove back.
Abstract:
There is provided a device that requires the presence of a textile or fabric; and a flexible and conformable light source apparatus attached to the textile or fabric, where the light source apparatus requires: at least one light source; at least two conductive members having a first end and a second end, the first end is connected to the at least one light source and the second end is adapted to connect to a power source; and at least one transparent polymer layer that encapsulates the entirety of the at least one light source and at least part of the at least two conductive members.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a protective clothing having high dust proof property which prevents powder dust from entering into the clothing and having high air permeability for comfortable work, in which the temperature does not rise easily even in summer. A dust-proof clothing using the following dust-proof material, wherein i) the dust-proof material has a fiber layer and an electret nonwoven fabric layer, and a total number of the fiber layer and the electret nonwoven fabric layer is 2 or more; and ii) in the dust-proof material, the fiber layer and the electret nonwoven fabric layer, which are adjacent to each other, are adhered on a region having an area ratio of 5% or more and 10% or less.
Abstract:
The present invention provides pants, such as pants that are worn as work uniform pants, which are configured to provide significant improvements in a wearer's comfort, performance, and mobility over a predefined range of motions. Embodiments of the pants comprise one or more stretch panels that are configured to provide for stretching of the pant at an identified micro site in order to provide a wearer with enhanced mobility. Additionally, the manner in which the various portions of the pant are connected together may be adjusted in order to provide a wearer with enhanced mobility.
