The device further comprises a coupling portion that couples the first and second rigid parts together while allowing relative movement of the first and second parts between a clamped position and an unclamped position. The expandable element is inflatable to apply additional pressure to the limb, and deflatable to reduce the additional pressure, when the clamping device is positioned on the limb. The sensing module (1) is used for sensing the pressure at the joint between the blood pressure measuring auxiliary device and the pressuring device and outputting a pressure signal to the communication module. The gas pump is used for inflating and pressurizing the gas bag. The pressure relief valve is used for deflating and depressurizing the gas bag. The pressure sensor is used for detecting the pressure of the gas bag. The gas conduit connects the gas bag, the gas pump, the pressure relief valve and the pressure sensor to form a gas loop. The gas loop delivers gas among the gas bag, the gas pump, the pressure relief valve and the pressure sensor. The MEMS microphone is disposed at a specified location of the gas loop for detecting the Korotkoff sounds transmitted from the passing gas. The controller is used for monitoring and controlling the gas pump, the pressure relief valve, the pressure sensor and the MEMS microphone.

A sphygmomanometer with a cuff for use on a patient wrist, upper or lower arm incorporates an. inflatable bladder and a support structure. The cuff is subdivided two two sections. The first section holds the bladder against an arterial side of the limb, while the second section abuts a non-arferial side of the limb and is mechanically coupled, to the support structure. When the cuff is attached to the patient limb, the bladder is positioned to avoid receiving a gravitational force caused by the weight of the limb. Rather, the gravitational force is absorbed by the support structure in an inferior area of the cuff removed from the bladder.
