摘要: Disclosed is an optical pressure sensor (42) having: a first light guide path (44-1) and a second light guide path (44-2), a light exit face of the first light guide path (44-1) and a light entry face of the second light guide path (44-2) being arranged such that light supplied via the first light guide path (44-1) and exiting the light exit face of the first light guide path (44-1) is incident on the light entry face of the second light guide path (44-2); and a first surface (10) and a second surface (20), which can move relative to one another and the distance between which defines a light propagation path between the light exit face of the first light guide path (44-1) and the light entry face of the second light guide path (44-2). The first surface (10) and the second surface (20) are coupled together mechanically, such that as a compressive force that is absorbed by the pressure sensor increases, the first surface (10) and the second surface (20) move away from one another. Other aspects relate to a measuring mattress comprising a plurality of pressure sensors (42) that are based on light guides and are accommodated in respective cavities, a bed provided with the measuring mattress, a method for detecting conditions of a body lying on the bed, and a diagnostic system.

摘要: An incontinence detection system includes an incontinence detection pad for placement beneath a person to be monitored. The incontinence detection pad has a passive radio frequency identification (RFID) tag. A reader is provided and a plurality of antennae is coupled to the reader. The reader includes a bistatic radio frequency (RF) switch matrix which is operable to establish a first antenna of the plurality of antennae as a transmit antenna that is used to wirelessly energize the passive RFID tag and to establish a second antennae of the plurality of antennae as a receive antenna that is used to read backscattered data that may be emitted from the passive RFID tag. The first and second antennae are situated in respective housings that are spaced apart from each other. An arrangement of first and second electrodes on an electrical sheet of an incontinence pad is also provided.

摘要: A person support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, includes an exit detection system that utilizes an occupant motion parameter to determine whether to issue an alert or not. The motion parameter may be based on the weight and motion of the occupant. Successive positions of the occupant are determined in order to calculate a velocity of the occupant. In some embodiments, the kinetic energy of the occupant is used to determine if an alert should be issued. Objects positioned on the person support apparatus may also be detected and tracked. Auto-zeroing of a built-in scale, as well as automatic recognition of the removal, movement, and/or addition of objects is also provided.

摘要: This document describes synchronizing cardiovascular sensors for cardiovascular monitoring, such as through sensing relevant hemodynamics understood by pulse transit times, blood pressures, pulse-wave velocities, and, in more breadth, electrical conduction properties, cardiac rhythms, thoracic impedance, ballistocardiograms and pressure-volume loops. The techniques disclosed in this document use various cardiovascular sensors to sense hemodynamics, such as skin color and skin and other organ displacement. These cardiovascular sensors require little if any risk to the patient and are simple and easy for the patient to use.

摘要: In one example, this disclosure describes a method including receiving, at a central controller of an air mattress system, a plurality of air pressure value, determining a plurality of average values using the plurality of the received air pressure values, calculating a difference value between a first one of the plurality of average values and a second one of the plurality of average values, comparing the difference value to a threshold value, determining, based on the comparison, whether a user of the air mattress system moved.
