    摘要: A dental anchor apparatus comprises a one or two part endosseous implant securable in a patient's mouth and a retention member which is releasably engageable with the implant. The implant has an abutment head at one end and a threaded post projecting from the head and designed for threaded engagement in the jaw bone, the head having an outer locating surface portion. The retention member is generally cup-shaped with a first end and a peripheral skirt extending from the first end to form a cavity, the skirt having an inner locating surface which is engaged over the outer locating surface portion of the head. The head may also have a socket in which a post extending from an inner end of the retention member engages as the parts are moved into releasable snap engagement.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a new dental implant (10) that includes a generally cylindrical section (14) and a tapered section (18). The implant has a thread (20) making a plurality of turns around the exterior surface. The implant (10) is installed into a bore that includes a generally cylindrical portion and a tapered portion. The dimensions of the cylindrical section (14) and the tapered section (18) of the implant are at least the dimensions of the generally cylindrical portion and the tapered portion of the bore, respectively. The bore is preferably shaped by a shaping drill that has a profile that generally mimics the profile of the implant. The female threads are preferably developed through a compression tap or a series of compression taps that cause the bone tissue defining the female threads to have increased density.

    摘要: The technical field of the invention generally concerns expandable dental implant for receiving and supporting a dental prosthesis. The expandable dental implant, securable within a bore formed into bone of a patient's jaw, includes an elongated, hollow, tubular barrel (32) having both an attachment end (34) and an insertion end (36). The barrel has both a threaded interior surface (42) for screwing the implant into the bore, and a threaded exterior surface (44) for receiving a threaded expander screw (62). The barrel is pierced about its insertion end by a plurality of radial slits (52) spaced circumferentially around the barrel. The interior surface of the barrel at the insertion end is formed with a smaller diameter than the diameter of the interior surface of the barrel at the attachment end. The expander screw and the interior surface of the barrel are shaped so advancement of the expander screw along the barrel toward the insertion end causes an end surface (74) of the expander screw to collide with the interior surface of the barrel, and to expand the insertion end outward into the surrounding bone.

At least a first rail on the core is received by a corresponding expandable anchor slot to align the core and expandable anchor and at least a first core and expandable locking lodge engage to lock the core into the expandable anchor.
