摘要:
A system for treating a tissue site includes a pressure source to apply reduced pressure, and a manifold in fluid communication with the pressure source to provide reduced pressure to the tissue site. The system includes a drape for adhering to the tissue site to cover the tissue site and the manifold. The drape has a film layer having a thickness less than about 15 microns, and an adhesive coupled to the film layer. The adhesive seals the film layer to the tissue site to create a sealed space having the manifold therein. The adhesive is sufficiently thick to limit leaks between the film layer and the tissue site.

Transdermal therapeutic system with which at least one pharmaceutical active substance that is non-volatile at room temperature can be administered at a daily dose of at most 30 mg, comprising a rear surface directed away from the skin and impermeable to the active substance, an adjoining polymer layer located away from the skin and based on polyisobutylene with a coating weight of at least 80 g/m2, an adhesive skin contact layer resting on the skin-remote polymer layer and based on acrylate copolymers with a coating weight of at most 50 g/m2, and a protective layer that is impermeable to the active substance and can be peeled off from the skin contact layer.

A non-contact controllable heater wound covering and method having a peripheral sealing ring covered by a layer to which is attached a heater and this assembly is attached to the skin with an adhesive so that the heater is held proximate the wound area in a non-contact position. The layer and peripheral sealing ring together define a treatment volume proximate the wound. The wound covering includes a programmable active heater control and the sealing ring may dispense water to control the humidity of the treatment volume. One form of active heat is an electrical resistive filament in variable geometric shapes providing versatility in application of heat to different types of wounds and wound area geometries. Another form of active heat is the transfer of a heated gas to the wound covering.

Embodiments herein provide hemostatic compositions comprising a plurality of liquid-expandable articles arranged on a backing material. In general, embodiments include methods for treating hemorrhagic injuries. More specifically, there is provided a method to effect rapid hemostatic response and control hemorrhage by introducing a hemostatic composition into a bleeding wound cavity. An embodiment also provides a method of preparing or manufacturing such a hemostatic composition.
