Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed, in part, to an absorbent article comprising a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned at least partially intermediate the liquid permeable topsheet and the liquid impermeable backsheet. The absorbent article may comprise a substantially laterally-extending separation element defining a visual front portion and a visual back portion on a wearer-facing surface of the absorbent article. The liquid permeable topsheet may comprise a first zone in the visual front portion that comprises a first geometric treatment and a second zone in the visual back portion that comprises a second geometric treatment.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing an absorbent article including a topsheet, a backsheet, a core, a discrete barrier member, a first cuff, and a second cuff. A barrier substrate may be cut into a discrete barrier member including a leading edge portion, an opposing trailing edge portion, and a central portion therebetween. The discrete barrier substrate may be transferred onto a folding roll. A first cuff substrate and a second cuff substrate may be advanced onto the folding roll such that the discrete barrier substrate may be disposed on at least a portion of the first cuff substrate and the second cuff substrate. The discrete barrier member may include a fold between the leading edge portion and the trailing edge portion. A topsheet substrate may associate with at least a portion of the discrete barrier member, the first cuff substrate, and the second cuff substrate.
Abstract:
An absorptive product comprising a front part, a rear part, an inside leg part, a waist opening, a pair of leg circumference openings, and a liquid-impermeable back sheet, wherein disposed on the inner side of the back sheet are a urinal front absorber and a feces rear absorber, with a take-out port formed for taking out these absorbers.
Abstract:
A body fluid management device used with an absorbent article is disclosed. The body fluid management device has a body facing surface and an opposite surface facing the absorbent article when used with the absorbent article. The body fluid management device comprises a first attachment means provided on the body facing surface for attachment to the body of the wearer to cover the genitalia area of the wearer and an acquisition layer disposed between the body facing surface and the opposite surface. At least a portion of the body facing surface is fluid pervious and at least a portion of the opposite surface is fluid pervious such that fluid passes through the body fluid management device from the body facing surface toward the opposite surface. The body fluid management device can be joined to a bag.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an absorbent article having a front part (12), a rear part (14) and an intermediate crotch part (13), such as a diaper, an incontinence guard or like article which includes an absorbent body (1), a liquid-impermeable bottom sheet (7) joined to the abosrbent body, and a top sheet (9) which is free from connection with the absorbent body over a large part of its surface and which lies proximal to the wearer's body when the article is worn, and which top sheet includes an opening (15) which extends from the rear article part into the crotch part, and elastic devices (24, 25) which are fastened to the top sheet in a stretched state and which when contracting from the stretched state cause the part of the top sheet that is not joined to the absorbent body to be distanced from the body. According to the invention, the top sheet (9) includes a further opening (16) which extends from the front part (12) into the crotch part (13). A piece (26) of flexible material extends transversely across the article between the absorbent body (1) and the top sheet (9) within that region of the top sheet that lies between the two openings (15, 16), this piece of flexible material being fastened to the absorbent body and to the top sheet.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an absorbent product such as a diaper, a pant diaper, an incontinence shield or the like, comprising a front portion (13; 113; 213; 313; 413), a rear portion (12; 112; 212; 312; 412) and an intermediate crotch portion (14; 114; 214; 314; 414), further comprising an absorbent body (4; 404), a liquid-impermeable bottom layer (5; 105; 205; 305; 405) and a relatively easily flexible top layer (2; 102; 202; 302; 402), which, when the absorbent product is used, is intended to lie closest to the body of the user, further comprising an opening (17; 117; 217; 317; 417) having, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the product, a front (18; 118; 218; 318; 418) and a rear (21; 121; 221; 321; 421) end, and two substantially longitudinal lateral edges (19, 20; 119, 120; 219, 220; 319, 320; 419, 420), and which at least within the area of the opening (17; 117; 217; 317; 417) is not joined to the absorbent body (4; 404). According to the invention, the product has an elastic tongue (24; 124; 224; 324; 424) at the rear end (21; 121; 221; 321; 421) of the opening, the rear end of the opening being located at the root (25; 125; 225; 325; 425) of the tongue. The tongue (24; 124; 224; 324; 424) is contracted in its elastically unloaded state and folded in the area of the root (25; 125; 225; 325; 425) of the tongue and the rear end (21; 121; 221; 321; 421) of the opening, whereby the tongue (24; 124; 224; 324; 424) forms a mechanical barrier (29; 429) against the transport of waste past said area.
Abstract:
An absorbent article incorporating a main body (10) which has a waist hole (1) and a pair of leg holes (2), and comprises a topsheet (12) positioned in a facing relation to a wearer's body, a backsheet (11) positioned opposite thereto, and an absorbent core (13) interposed between the backsheet and the topsheet. The topsheet can be in the form of a composite which comprises two layers (12a, 12b) of sheet material and two sets of elastic members (6a, 6b) sandwiched between the two sheets of material. The topsheet further has communicating means (20) disposed in a crotch region of the absorbent article for receiving body exudates. The communicating means is surrounded by the elastic members (6) which form leg gathers (2), and serves as a passage to communicate body exudates to a space defined between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent article of the present invention can provide excellent flexibility, a snug fit and comfort to a wearer during use, while effectively preventing leakage from the leg gathers.
