    摘要: A control system for a high-speed rotary washer spraying system designed particularly for plastic returnable bottles (11) automatically regulates each process of the wash spraying system, namely sequentially feeding bottles from an infeed conveyor means (12), inverting them by a worm/inverter means (14), receiving and simultaneously rotating each bottle (11) in an inverted position through a plurality of washing, neutralizing and sanitizing treatment zones, and inverting each bottle to its original neck-up orientation for further processing. During the entire process, a programmable logic controller maintains, manages, and controls all pumps, valves, solenoids, and drive motor speeds as required by the process, and also provides for monitoring and adjusting fluid levels, alkalinity/acidity concentrations, and temperatures of the wash and neutralizing solutions. Alarm conditions that may present themselves during the washing, neutralizing, and sanitizing processes are flagged for human intervention, interaction, or acknowledgement. Such alarm conditions are out of range: fluid-flow, temperature, pressure, conductivity and/or pH, fluid levels, and carousel and bottle RPM. The control system also includes specialized checks for clogged spray nozzles, and out of position fluid lances.

    摘要: A high-speed bottle washing machine provides concurrent rotational motion to a workpiece as it is conveyed through a washing treatment zone for internal and external spray treatments. The machine comprises a plurality of moving bottle receiving stations for sequentially receiving and rotating inverted bottles received from a bottle infeed conveyor, a plurality of reciprocating spray nozzles, with at least one spray nozzle moving with each bottle receiving station, wherein each of the spray nozzles reciprocates from a first position below the inverted bottles, to a second position within the bottles, and a manifold assembly for sequentially supplying a caustic wash fluid under pressure to each of the plurality of spray nozzles to clean the bottles by impingement of the wash fluid in a predetermined pattern within the bottles as the bottles are rotated. The washed bottles are finally discharged at a bottle outfeed conveyor.

    摘要: A bottle washer (10) removing bottles from a conveyor (14), rotating them about 360 degrees, and using paddles (19, 56) of exten­ded length and a stationary guide (51) to replace the bottles on the conveyor (14). The washer may sit over the conveyor trans­porting the bottles. The conveyor moves the bottles between paddles which will rotate them through a circle of 360 degrees. At the very end of the arc, however, an obstruc­ting guide rail (51) directs the bottles out of the rotational plane to avoid their colliding with the entering bottles. The paddles (19, 56) that move the bottles about the arc have exten­sions lying in the direction that the conveyor moves. These extensions control the motion of the bottles as they move out of their plane of rotation so that they will return to the conveyor for their subsequent transport downstream. The bottle washer, to work at greater length upon the bottles, may in fact move the bottles about two circles (22, 45) of approxi­mately 360 degrees each. Each of the paddles moving the bottles through one of the rotations of 360 degrees connects to and move with a paddle moving the bottles through the other orbit. As the bottles complete the first rotation, the obstructing guide moves them out of the plane of the first rotation. The paddles of the second rotation make contact with them and move them around a second rotation. As they complete the second orbit, a second obstructing guide (51) moves them out of that second plane. The extensions on the paddles (56) of the second plane then direct the departing bottles onto the conveyor. During the bottles' rotation, the usual rotational valves and nozzles permit the desired operations of washing and cleaning.
