Mit der vorliegenden Erfindung werden erhebliche Verbesserungen bei der Qualität des gezogenen Produktes, insbesondere von Drähten aus Kupfer, Kupferlegierungen bzw. Sonderwerkstoffen erreicht. Der Betrieb erfolgt dabei im wesentlichen automatisch, wobei eine selbstständige Anpassung der Vorrichtung an geänderte Betriebsbedingungen, wie Änderung der Materialeigenschaft des Stranggutes erfolgt.
