In case for cylindrical pipe, the intermediate product has an oval cross section with its seam contacted together, and an external force is applied in long axis direction of the oval so as for the oval to be circular and to be a completed pipe 1. A spring back force tends the pipe to be back as original oval form is induced and it maintains the seam 5e in close contacted condition.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de formage d'un tronçon de conduit consistant à couper à partir d'une amenée de tôle en bande, une longueur de ladite tôle afin de définir ses extrêmités avant et arrière, et à avancer la longueur de tôle dans le sens de sa longueur jusqu'à un poste de formage; à avancer la longueur au moyen d'un système de manipulation automatique; à former sur lesdits bords avant et arrière, un moyen de formage de jointure afin de rendre lesdits bords avant et arrière complémentaires pour ménager une jointure pliée et aplatie dans le tronçon final du conduit, et au niveau dudit poste de formage, à donner à la longueur de tôle la forme d'un tronçon de conduit par pliage de ce dernier dans un sens transversal par rapport au sens de la longueur du tronçon de la tôle, afin d'amener les bords avant et arrière en contact formant une jointure, puis à plier et à aplatir lesdits bords avant et arrière pour former ladite jointure.
