    摘要: An oscillating multi-tool for cutting, scraping, sanding, or grinding of material. The oscillating multi-tool includes a body, a drive system and a gear arrangement. The drive system and the gear arrangement are designed to cause first and second tool attachments to partially or fully oscillate in opposite directions. The gear arrangement is connected or interconnected to first and second tool connectors. The first tool attachment is connected to the first tool connector and the second tool attachment is connected to the second tool connector. The gear arrangement causes the first and second tool connectors to move when the drive system is activated to thereby cause the first and second tool attachments to partially or fully oscillate in opposite directions relative to one another.

    摘要: This invention is a counter-balanced oscillating surgical saw (100) which greatly reduces the vibration caused when the saw blades contact the patient's anatomy because of the use of two oscillating blades (108, 110) that counter the kinetic energy lost when only one blade is used. The preferred embodiment includes at least two cutting blades (108, 110) mounted on at least two actuator blocks (114, 116). The actuator blocks are mounted on at least two shafts: a pivot shaft (260), and a rotatable shaft (146) which is rotated by an electric motor (not shown). The actuator blocks are positioned adjacent two eccentric bearings (142, 144) that are mounted to the rotatable shaft (146) such that the bearings orbit about the rotatable shaft 180 degrees out of phase with respect to one another. The actuator blocks (142, 144), thus, move in a reciprocating manner about the rotatable shaft (146) of the saw (100) so that their motion is transformed into a counter-balanced oscillating motion of the blades (108, 110).
