The invention relates to a method and an injection unit which is movable on runners (6) of the frame (7) of an injection molding machine with the aid of a running gear (40) and comprises a drive unit (10, 23) for axially displacing and pressing the plasticizing cylinder (2) to the injection mold. According to the invention, the tip (16) of the plasticizing cylinder (16) is adjusted on both a vertical and a horizontal plane via a slight rotary movement of the entire injection unit (1) prior to the production if the concentric sealing connection to the injection port (17) of the mold is insufficient. The inventive injection unit (1) is supported via a support (5) that is disposed so as to be movable on the frame (7) of the injection-molded part while being provided with an individual drive unit (10, 23) via which the plasticizing cylinder (2) can be pressed to the injection mold so as to create a concentric sealing connection thereto.

The invention relates to an injection molding machine having a plurality of modular drive groups which are arranged on the injection molding side and on the mold closure side. According to the invention, at least one of the drive groups (300, 400, 500) is connected to the injection molding machine via at least one multifunction element which, as an interface, makes it possible to optionally connect different types of drives, e.g. electromechanical drives, hydraulic drives, pneumatic drives, linear motors or electromagnetic drives as a drive group in an otherwise unmodified injection molding machine. Independent of the respective drive, space for the respectively used drive groups is provided on the injection molding machine in order to accommodate each type of drive. As a result, the structural requirements for an increased modularity are accomplished by using components which, to a great extent, are identical.

The roller elements are in active engagement via at least one contour with the inner contours (10a) of the tube (10) and the outer contours (11b) of the head (11a) whose position can be adjusted essentially by rotation relative to the roller elements. (12). The shaft (11) is enclosed in a tubular element (14) which is coaxial about the central axis (a-a) of the shaft (11). When the device is actuated, the tubular element (14) moves translationally relative to the tube (10). The device is thus protected in a very simple way from external influences.

In an injection press molding machine of the present invention, a horizontal injection device (10) is disposed below a fixed die plate (2) of a vertical press device (1), the injection nozzle (10b) of its injection portion (10a) is bent in an L-shape and a valve (10c) for opening and closing a resin passage is disposed in this nozzle. A base (14) of a bed (4) supporting the horizontal injection device (10) slides with the injection nozzle (10b) as the center in accordance with thermal expansion and contraction of the horizontal injection device (10) and the L-shaped injection nozzle (10b) comes into contact with a lower mold (3) at a predetermined surface pressure. Therefore, color changeability of the resin and its purgeability are excellent and since a hot runner is not necessary, an economical and versatile mold can be obtained. Moreover, since the resin is packed using a short resin passage, molded articles having stable quality can be obtained. Even when the horizontal injection device (10) undergoes expansion and contraction, the lower mold (3) is not moved and resin leakage does not occur, either. Since the injection portion (10a) can move outward from below the fixed die plate (2), replacement and inspection of the injection nozzle (10b), the screw, and the like, can be made easily.
