The reinforcement layer is obtained by impregnating a stretchable woven aramid fiber fabric with a fluororesin dispersion and drying and burning the dispersion. The woven aramid fiber fabric of the core is a fabric woven with a plain-weave seamless weaving machine or a cylindrical weaving machine, the woven fabric including an S twist weft and a Z twist weft which have been alternately arranged.

Disclosed is a method for producing a reinforcing cord (2) wherein a coating layer is provided on the surface of a reinforcing fiber bundle (21) which comprises a plurality of reinforcing fibers. This method comprises a step for forming a coating layer on the surface of the reinforcing fiber bundle (21) by extrusion molding by using a material containing at least one elastomer selected from polyester thermoplastic elastomers and fluororesin thermoplastic elastomers.
