In some aspects, the system includes a plurality of forming modules movably mounted relative to an infeed mechanism. The infeed mechanism is configured to supply pre-form articles to the plurality of forming modules, and each of the plurality of forming modules includes a multi-segment mold disposed about an electromagnetic coil. The electromagnetic coil is configured to impart an electromagnetic force on the pre-form articles when supplied with electrical energy that urges the pre-form articles into contact with the multi-segment mold to produce the formed containers.

    摘要: A punch press has first and second opposed tools mounted on first and second members, and these members are movable toward opposite sides of material to be formed between the tools. These motion members are electromagnetically driven with rapid acceleration toward each other for impacting fast-moving first and second tools simultaneously against opposite sides of the material to be formed. The two opposed motion members with their respective electromagnetic drives are arranged for the momentum of the first tool with its associated moving parts at the instant of impact to be substantially equal to the momentum of the second tool with its associated moving parts so that equal and opposite impulses resulting from the respective momentums substantially cancel each other out. As a result of this opposed motion with momentums-balanced-at-impact, very little energy or work is wastefully lost into a platform or other support for the punch press, and only an insignificant or very modest amount of mechanical shock and vibrations are induced into the platform or other support. Thus, little noise is transmitted into the environment via the platform or other support. The material is fed into the region between the first and second tools by a feed mechanism which is also movable in either direction. Various arrangements are disclosed for appropriately positioning the feed plate between the opposed tools and for controlling their respective electromagnetic drives for achieving substantially simultaneous impact of the tools with substantially equal momentums against opposite sides of the material to be formed between the tools.

    摘要: The present invention provides a linear motor 1 which uses a plurality of cylindrical linear motors 2 to increase power and which can guide forward and backward movements using a simple configuration, the linear motor 1 requiring reduced manufacturing costs. A plurality of cylindrical linear motors 2 are provided each of which has a shaft member 3 made of a permanent magnet and a coil unit 4. A motor support 25 is provided which is able to support the coil units of the plurality of cylindrical linear motors 2 arranged in parallel. The shaft members of the plurality of cylindrical linear motors 2 are coupled together at ends thereof by coupling members 10, 11. A guide mechanism 32 is located inside the arrangement of the cylindrical linear motors 2 to guide movement of the shaft members 3 of the cylindrical linear motors 2. The number of guide mechanisms 32 is smaller than that of the cylindrical linear motors 2. For example, the single guide mechanism 32 is provided ( Fig.1).
