This invention relates generally to wheeled luggage, and particularly to wheeled luggage with one or more controlled wheels for improved tracking and steering control of the luggage case when it is in motion. The invention provides a support structure for a luggage case comprising a plurality of spaced parallel wheels and at least one biasing element that is operable up to a certain torque to releasably restrain the angular movement at least one wheel to at least one angular position with respect to the base. Conveniently, the at least one angular position corresponds to a desired direction of travel.

A caster comprises a body including a stem cavity with a stem of the caster rotatably mounted in the stem cavity to permit rotation of the stem relative to the body about a stem access. The stem may comprise a spline shaft extending from the stem into the stem cavity. The stem and spline shaft are operatively connected. The stem cavity may have a spline bushing. The spline bushing and the body are operatively connected to each other. The spline shaft and the spline bushing are releaseably interlockable. One of the spline bushing and the spline shaft may be movable in a direction along the stem axis between the swivel position wherein the spline shaft is not engaged with the spline bushing, and a fixed position wherein the spline shaft is engaged with the spline bushing.

Disclosed is a twin-pedal-controlled swivel caster, comprising a caster body frame (1), a pair of caster assemblies (2) disposed at two sides of the caster body frame (1), a swivel assembly (5) disposed on the caster body frame (1), and a braking module (3) capable of braking by stepping on a braking pedal (32) and a brake release module (4) capable of resetting the movement of the caster by stepping on a braking release pedal (41), both of which are disposed in the caster body frame (1). By means of the pedals, the swivel caster can both lock the rotation of a wheel plate of the caster and lock the direction of rotation of the caster, and can also release the dual-locked state by means of the braking release pedal (41) located in the same direction as the braking pedal (32), making the caster return to a state of full freedom again. The braking and braking release actions of the swivel caster are convenient and easy, and the swivel caster is simple to operate.

The invention relates to a roller (1) having a wheel (2), which is accommodated in a housing, and an arresting device (10, 17), wherein the arresting device (10, 17) can be actuated by foot actuation of an actuating element (5) which is arranged so as to extend radially outwards in relation to a vertical (V) which penetrates a fastening region of the roller (1). In order to specify a roller which is configured advantageously with regard to arresting by foot actuation, it is proposed that an actuating section of the actuating element (5) extends circumferentially at any rate so far that a second foot actuation can be carried out in the circumferential direction, in relation to the vertical (V), next to a region of the actuating section, via which a first foot actuation was performed.
