Abstract:
A remotely operated underwater vehicle for cleaning surfaces submerged in water, the underwater vehicle having a first side, a second side, a propulsion means, a plurality of trimming means, a first buoyancy means attached to the first side and a second buoyancy means attached to the second side. Elements of the plurality of trimming means are arranged on opposite sides of the centre of gravity of the vehicle and at least one of the plurality of trimming means has a movable mass and a displacement region into which the movable mass can move. The center of gravity of the vehicle is automatically shifted when the vehicle is accelerating or changes orientation, in which the first buoyancy means provides more buoyancy than the second buoyancy means such that the center of buoyancy is located above the center of gravity of the vehicle irrespective of the orientation of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A rotary cleaning apparatus for underwater cleaning including a housing, a battery, a motor and a flexible hub system. The flexible hub system includes a toroidal brush system coupled to a circular centrifugal pump assembly. The flexible hub system includes a flexible hub allowing the flexible hub system to bend out of plane. When the flexible hub system is rotated underwater at a curved surface, the brush system cleans the surface while the suction of the centrifugal pump assembly flexes the flexible hub system to evenly contact the surface.
Abstract:
A drive module (100, 200) for submersible autonomous vehicles is disclosed. The drive module (100, 200) includes a propulsion element (160, 260) configured to engage and rotate against a surface, a motor (170, 270) configured to drive the propulsion element (160, 260), and a controller (180, 280) configured to cause the motor (170, 270) to drive the propulsion element (160, 260). The drive module (100, 200) also includes a housing (102, 202) configured to be removably, releasably coupled to the exterior of a submersible autonomous vehicle. The motor (170, 270) and the controller (180, 280) are disposed within the housing (102, 202).
Abstract:
The invention concerns a cleaning device comprising a cleaning nozzle unit with at least one nozzle comprising an exit channel with a nozzle opening. The cleaning nozzle unit is mounted on a rotary shaft having a longitudinal axis and a direction of rotation and the cleaning device further comprises a propeller mounted on the rotary shaft. The propeller comprises at least one plate shaped vane comprising a first plate part comprising a leading edge with a leading edge length and a second plate part comprising a trailing edge with a trailing edge length, the leading edge is oriented in the direction of rotation and the trailing edge is oriented in a direction opposite the rotation direction. The propeller further comprises at least one first opening between the leading edge and a neighboring trailing edge, said first opening(s) having at least one height h1, determined parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rotary shaft and between the leading edge and the neighboring trailing edge.
Abstract:
A cleaning head for cleaning a submerged surface is disclosed. The cleaning head comprises a body portion, and a skirt portion extending around a periphery of the body portion, the skirt portion performing a sealing function between the body portion and a submerged surface desired to be cleaned when the cleaning head is disposed on the submerged surface during use. The cleaning head also comprises at least one cleaning member for causing material on the submerged surface to separate from the submerged surface when the cleaning head is disposed on the submerged surface during use, and at least one suction aperture in fluid communication with a space defined between the body portion and the submerged surface during use. During use, when the cleaning head is disposed on the submerged surface and the at least one suction aperture is connected in fluid communication with a device for generating a negative pressure, material separated from the submerged surface by the at least one cleaning member is drawn away from the cleaning head through the suction aperture.
