Die obere und die untere Schicht bestehen aus wasserundurchlässigen Schichten. Die Packung bildet im Querschnitt einen Rhomboid, so daß die einzelnen Schichten (3, 4) im spitzen Winkel gegen die Tankwand gedrückt werden und jede einzelne Schicht mit ihrer Stirnseite vollen Kontakt mit der Tankwand bekommt.
