Das Verfahren sieht vor, dass ein Rohr (16) mit einem offenen Rohrende (20) zumindest auf einem Rohrabschnitt (21) in einen offenen Hohlraum (14) im Bauteil (12) unter Ausbildung eines umfänglichen Ringraumes (22) eingeführt wird und ein Kühlmedium durch das Rohr (16) in den Hohlraum (14) eingeleitet und am Grund (28) des Hohlraumes umgelenkt wird, im Ringraum (22) zurückströmt und aus dem Hohlraum (14) ausströmt. Das Rohr (16) weist in seinem in den Hohlraum (14) eingeführten Rohrabschnitt (21) eine Einschnürung (30) und im Bereich der Einschnürung (30) Durchbrüche (35) durch die Rohrwandung (36) auf, wodurch das Kühlmedium beim Passieren der Einschnürung (30) im Rohrinneren (37) beschleunigt und ein Teil des zurückströmenden Kühlmediums aus dem Ringraum (22) in das Rohrinnere (37) gesaugt wird.

A perforated cooling air inlet tube (20) is positioned within the plunger, and the free end of the air inlet tube is held against a free end of an annular extension (22) of the cylinder rod, an opposed end of which is threadably received in the cylinder rod, by a split locking ring (30) an inwardly facing recess (36, 38) of which traps a radially outwardly extending flange (40) of the plunger to axially position the plunger relative to the split ring. The split ring abuts an endless ring (24) and is axially positioned thereagainst by a flange (44, 46) of the split ring that is received in a recess (42) of the extension. The guide ring (58) is urged into engagement with the neck ring (56) by spring means (30) of the plunger mechanism even when wear of the guide ring (58) occurs. Flanged finishes of the parison are thereby avoided.

The cavity (2) contains material (8) capable of intense steam generation at the moulding temperature. A device is also provided for evacuating the cavity (2) and a device for regulating the temperature of the material (8), the latter device communicating with the cooling agent source and comprising the chamber (10) formed in the upper part of the moulding element. The sealed cavity (2) is divided into sections (3) by at least one vertical partition (4) made of at least one layer of corrosion- and heat-resistant porous material (lattice (5)) and provided with through-apertures (7) by which the sections (3) communicate.
