A coating composition including at least one solvent, at least one resin, at least one drier, and an anti-skinning agent is provided, an anti-skinning composition, wherein the anti-skinning composition comprises at least 92 wt. %, or more particularly at least 98 wt. %, of an alkyl oxime having five carbon atoms selected from 2-pentanone oxime and 3-methyl-2-butanone oxime. In some embodiments, the high-purity 2-pentanone oxime includes less than 0.5 wt. % methyl isobutyl ketoxime. In some embodiments, the composition includes less than 0.006 wt. % methyl isobutyl ketoxime. A method for the preparation of a purified 2-pentanone stream suitable for oximation to a high-purity 2-pentanone oxime is also provided.

Provided herein are methods for producing ketone(s) from the condensation of methyl ketone(s) and alcohol(s) in the presence of an amine catalyst and a metal catalyst. Such amine catalysts may be supported, for example, on a silica-alumina support. Such ketones may be suitable for use in producing fuels, gasoline additives, and/or lubricants, or precursors thereof. The methyl ketone(s) and/or alcohol(s) may be obtained from renewable sources, such as by fermentation of biomass.

This invention relates to metal alloy-doped heterogeneous catalysts. Also described is the method of manufacture and use of cost-effective metal alloy-doped ion exchange resin catalysts which provide for comparable yield and selectivity compared to the catalysts previously used in e.g. aldol condensation and hydrogenation reactions, in particular for the production of methyl vinyl ketone from acetone. The catalysts comprise or are pyrolysis products of a) an (sulfonated) ion exchange resin; and b) a nanometric size cluster of two or more combined metals as ''metal alloy''.
