    摘要: The invention relates to a process for the preparation of mixtures containing bitumen and thermoplastic polymer at a high concentration, stable during storage, with particular characteristics of easy processability and movability which, once diluted, allow modified bitumens to be obtained with high performance characteristics. In particular, the process allows mixtures containing bitumen, thermoplastic polymer and wax, to be prepared, wherein the polymer is in a quantity varying from 5 to 30% by weight with respect to the weight of the mixture consisting of bitumen and polymer, and the wax is in a quantity varying from 4.7 to 16.7% by weight with respect to the weight of the total mixture, and comprises reacting a concentrated mixture (A), stable during storage, containing bitumen and from 5 to 30% by weight of thermoplastic polymer, with a hydrocarbon wax containing at least 40 carbon atoms and having a melting point of at least 700C, in a weight ratio between the mixture (A) and wax ranging from 100:5 to 100:20, at a temperature ranging from 160 to 2000C and for a time ranging from 15 minutes to 7 hours, preferably from 15 to 120 minutes. An object of the invention also relates to new mixtures containing bitumen and thermoplastic polymer at a high concentration and mixtures obtainable from these by dilution.

    摘要: The invention concerns a composition and a method for producing a road surface course for roadways with little or moderate traffic corresponding to not more than about 5000 vehicles per day. The composition is based on black japanned aggregates, the aggregates being 2/4 to 2/6 chippings and the lacquering being obtained by a bitumen emulsion. When the surface course is being produced, sand and a bitumen emulsion with controlled fracture and viscosity are spread over the black japanned aggregate composition surface, the whole being then compacted. The invention also concerns a corresponding surface course.

    摘要: Polyether-polyurethane foam materials impregnated with bitumen are disclosed. These foam materials find use as sealing strips against moisture, draughts and dust, particularly in the construction of roofs and walls of a building with overlapping formed metal or cement or similar sheets where a strip is inserted in the overlap of two adjacent sheets to provided the required sealing therebetween. The sealing strips can also be used to seal adjacent tiles on a roof between the underside of the tile and its supporting batten or rafter. The bitumen may be a bitumen emulsion, hot bitumen or kerosene-diluted bitumen. The concentration of bitumen in the foam materials can be in excess of 600 kg/m3.

    摘要: Methods are provided for predicting the properties of an asphalt fraction that contains two or more asphalt components based on measurements of the viscosity versus temperature profile for the components of the asphalt fraction. The viscosity versus temperature profile for each component can be used to determine characteristic (such as limiting) values for the viscosity and temperature for a components. Examples of characteristic values for an asphalt component are the asymptotic values of viscosity at infinite temperature (ηinf) and the finite temperature at which the viscosity diverges (T0). Once these characteristic values are determined, the characteristic values for each component can be combined in a weighted average to determine ηinf and T0 for the asphalt blend. Based on this ability to determine characteristic values for an asphalt blend based on the properties of individual blend components, appropriate blends of asphalts can be selected in order to arrive at an asphalt blend with desired properties.
