Verfahren zum Auffinden, zur Freilegung und zum Abdichten überdeckter Fugen (7) an aufeinanderstoßenden Platten (6), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß zunächst, Abdichtungsprofile aus schweißbarem Kunststoff im Abstand der gewünschten Größe der Betonplatten verlegt werden, wobei sich jeweils die Abdichtungsprofile mit ihren nach oben hin ausgebildeten Fortsetzungen (3) berühren, daß dann, die oberen Fortsetzungen (3) der Abdichtungsprofile geeignet miteinander verbunden werden, daß dann der Beton, vorzugsweise in einem kontinuierlichen maschinell betriebenen Verfahren aufgebracht wird, wobei die Abdichtungsprofile nun vom Beton zugedeckt werden, daß dann mit einer geeigneten Detektiervorrichtung (9) die Position der Oberkante der miteinander verbundenen Fortsetzungen (3) der Abdichtungsprofile unter dem Beton detektiert wird, daß dann, nach links und/oder rechts von der detektierten Position aus, in einem festen Abstand der Beton wieder entfernt wird, wodurch sich so, nun nebeneinanderliegende Betonplatten (6) gebildet haben und, daß so schließlich die nun wieder freiliegende Fuge verschweißt und damit abgedichtet wird.

The device for connecting two road sections (1a, 1b), separated by an expansion joint (3) is comprised of a plurality of joint covers (2) arranged butt-to-butt and wherein each joint cover (2) has at least one deformable area (4) which extends parallel to the joint (3), delimited by two fixing elements (5a and 5b) connected respectively to the two road sections (1a, 1b). The deformable area (4) is formed by alternate deformable carrier elements (6) and by bellows (7). On either side of each bellows (7) two indeformable carrier elements (18) are provided which belong respectively to the fixing elements (5a, 5b). Each of the deformable carrier elements (6) has a horizontal metal plate situated at the upper part of the joint cover (2) and supported by two elastomer blocks which are deformable by horizontal shearing and which are arranged symmetrically with respect to a vertical plane parallel to the joint (3). Each of the bellows (6) is provided with a continuous, relatively thin, non planar elastomer wall. Utilization for improving the running of vehicles on road joints.

A concrete contraction and expansion joint with a mechanism providing adjustable height, enabling fast, efficient pouring of concrete over layout surfaces, achieving accurate thickness and desired slope of the concrete slab. In a preferred embodiment, the concrete section joint assembly (35) is pre-formed by using longitudinal sections having a channel (37) for holding elastomeric material (42), with the section supported from its underside by shaped support units, each mounted on two threaded studs (24). A specially designed nut (28) threaded on each stud (24) provides height adjustability and by rotation raises or lowers the height of support unit sides. The height adjustment, provided from above the assembly, can be performed before concrete pouring is completed and an upper edge portion of the elastomeric material or the upper edges of the channel are visible with the concrete surface, providing a reference height and slope for the concrete surface. Another embodiment provides a surface level guide for mortar or plaster work in wall finishing.

The tubes 14, 16 are fixed to the structure by means of anchors 18, 20. The strip has bulbous edge portions 36, 38 which are located in the channels 32, 34. The invention relates to a prefabricated movement joint system with top edge rails providing protection for the concrete floor slab edges. The top edge rails may have a plurality of anchors to embed in the concrete and position the system, which are formed from the parent steel of the rail and not for example welded on. When the top edge rails are joined back to back with the possible use of yieldable fixings they clamp and hold in position possible a nylon or other plastic shaped extrusion and the divider plate thus comprising the whole of the assembled system.
