Der Wasserkasten (1) ist mit einer Siphoneinheit (6) ausgestattet, die ein Auslaufrohr (7), mindestens einen Siphonbogen (8) und mindestens ein Steigrohr (9) zum Entleeren des Wasserkastens (1) aufweist. Der Siphonbogen (8) wird zum Auslösen eines Spülvorgangs entlüftet, indem ein Wasserstrahl mittels eines Auslöseventils (12) über ein Zuleitungsrohr (13) in den Siphonbogen (8) eingeleitet wird. Der Spülvorgang kann durch Belüften des Siphonbogens (8) mittels einem Belüftungsventil (16) jederzeit während des Entleerungsvorgangs abgebrochen werden.

The siphon 16 is an inverted U-tube and at the top of the first limb 20 of the U-tube is a rotary valve which allows a controlled flow of air to enter the limb 20 during flushing and thereby destroy the vacuum in the U-tube to terminate the flushing cycle. The rotary valve has a number of settings to allow the duration of the flushing cycle to be varied.
