A concrete form module for construction of a building includes first and second panel devices, each having inner and outer faces. Projecting connectors are disposed on the inner faces and each has a pin-receiving aperture. U-shaped couplers are used to connect the two panel devices together so that their inner faces are parallel. Each connector has first and second connecting pins and these are received in the apertures of the connectors of the panel devices, with each pin being pivotable in its aperture after insertion. The panel devices can be moved from a collapsed configuration having at least a reduced space between the inner faces and an in-use configuration with more space between these faces. There is also disclosed a panel structure having upper and lower channel forming frames connected to an outer wall portion thereof. These form a channel for receiving equipment for utilities.

A concrete wall formwork module comprising a first side wall panel structure including a first grid and a first panel secured to the first grid, a second side wall panel structure including a second grid and a second panel secured to the second grid, and connecting rods having about a same length hingedly interconnecting the first and second side wall panel structures to allow movement thereof between a retracted parallel relationship to a spaced apart parallel relationship. A plurality of such concrete wall formwork modules allow assembling a formwork which is functionally similar to conventional formwork since the facing side wall panel structures are connected in a parallel relationship by the thin spacer connecting rods which allow concrete to freely travel within the formwork. When the first and second side wall panel structures are in the retracted parallel relationship, the concrete wall formwork module is more compact and therefore easier and less costly to transport.

At least one of the casing panels comprises an embedment made of concrete, mortar or the like, in added thickness relative to the stiffeners ( (2) and the articulated linking elements (1). Said embedment (11, 12) is arranged outside and/or inside the casing panel, the stiffeners ( (2) and the articulated linking elements (1) and the casing panel (8) when it is embedded form an inner reinforcement of the wall encased in the wall and covered by said embedment. A prefabricated collapsible formwork module is assembled at a factory site, including the provision of a pair of sheathing panels (1,2) which can be made of insulating material, as well as the mounting of the vapor barrier (13), the filler strips (9), bearing blocks (4,5), and flexible or foldable connecting elements (3) extending between bearing blocks on the exterior surfaces of the panels extending between the panels to retain the panels when they are being erected. The sheathing panels may also have a waterproof membrane applied thereto, and the concrete reinforcement is assembled between the sheathing panels at the factory site. When the framework module is fully assembled, it is then collapsed, that is, by moving one sheathing panel against the other including sandwiching the foldable or flexible connecting elements and the concrete reinforcement which is preferably in the form of a grid, and the module can then be stored and transported to a building site. At the building site, the module is spread apart to the full extent of the connecting means and spacers are provided between the sheathing panels for maintaining the panels apart. Typical male (14) and female (13) plates are intercalated at the edges of the sheathing panels to form joints (24) with adjacent panels.
