The present invention relates to wall and surface veneering products and systems that provide a replica image of a natural surface, such as stone, brick or wood, and is easily installable due to its lightweight characteristics and securement design. The present invention further includes systems for attachment of the veneering product to walls or other surfaces and also includes systems for assembling such products to provide pleasing arrangements and complete wall coverage. The present invention also includes methods of manufacture, which ensures the natural appearance of stone or wood by imaging a natural surface, such as stone or wood, and preparing a mold from that image to mass produce a replica of that particular surface.

A composite constructional element (1) comprises a plank profile (2) defining a rear face (6) and two opposed edge sections (4 and 5) of the constructional element. Each edge section includes an edge face (4a,5a). A cladding material (3) is moulded into the plank profile to extend continuously between the opposed edge faces such that it is retained by the rear face and the opposed edge faces. The plank profile may further comprise retaining formations (4b,5d) shaped to retain the moulded cladding material attached to the plank profile. A method of manufacturing the composite constructional element is also disclosed.

The invention relates to an edge-protection strip (1) for a plate intended to be assembled on a bearing surface with at least one other plate. The strip comprises a housing (5) for receiving the edge, and a flat main body (20) provided with, on at least one part (60 to 63), at least one housing (50 to 53) for receiving at least one complementarily shaped part of an edge of a plate, as well as being provided with at least one housing (8) for receiving a lug for securing the plate on a bearing surface. The body (20) of the strip is also provided with at least one housing (17, 17') for receiving a part of another strip (1) when the two plates are assembled. The body (20) of the strip (1) comprises at least two recesses (50 to 53) arranged in two parts (60 to 63) connected by a strip of material (191, 191'), said recesses (50 to 53) forming the housings for receiving two parts of a non-continuous edge of a plate. The invention also relates to the use of such a strip.
