Abstract:
Ship's ladder comprising rigid steps (11) connected to flexible suspension elements (12). Each short side of each step (11) has at least two fastening points (13) for the flexible suspension elements (12), and the steps are provided with bores (15) which is traversed by a cord (14) adapted to lower and hoist the ladder.
Abstract:
A telescopic hang-on ladder including a set of ladder elements ( 1 1, 1 2 , 1 3 , 1 4 ...) coupled to each other so that the sequential ladder elements are telescopically movable relative to each other in order to extend and collapse the ladder. Each ladder element includes two parallel stringers (2 1 , 2 2 ) spaced apart from each other. The cross-sectional profile of a stringer comprises a planar web (3), and both long edges of the web comprise guide members, wherein the guide members of the stringer of each upper ladder element constitute a slide guide for the stringer of the adjacent lower ladder element. A step (4) extends between the stringers substantially perpendicularly to the lengthwise direction of the stringers (2 1 , 2 2 ) and is mounted at each end to the web (3) of the stringer. The stringers (2 1 , 2 2 ) of each ladder element are substantially fitted, for the most of their part, within the corresponding stringers of the adjacent upper ladder element. Both long edges of the web (3) comprise a planar flange (5, 6) bent at an acute angle relative to the plane of the web, wherein the flanges together with the web constitute said guide members, so that each stringer of the upper ladder element constitutes a dovetail guide for the stringer of the lower ladder element fitted within said stringer.
Abstract:
An improved safety ladder and safety window as well as a method for use are disclosed. The ladder is discrete and compact, for convenience. The ladder is stored in a hidden container that is an extension or an addition to a normal window, or made part of an existing window, for example by being housed in a box associated with the window. The inventive built-in safety ladder provides for an easy escape in the case of an emergency. The window may be employed in a double-hung window, casement window, awning, hopper, or any operating window which can be used for egress. The fire escape can be incorporated in wood, vinyl, aluminum, steel, and other types of windows. The box may also be used for housing other items such as emergency escape smoke hoods that are used as breathing apparatus, or as a hidden wall safe to store valuables and can be accessed using a security code.

Abstract:
The invention provides a segmented surface 10 having a series of elements 12 hingedly attached to each other, the hinges 14 enabling the elements 12 to be rolled into a compact array and to be rotated and extended vis-a-vis adjacent elements 12 to ascribe predetermined angles therebetween, and comprising additional elements 18, each additional element 18 being hingedly attached to the hinge 14 of a pair of adjacent surface elements 12, wherein the hinges 14 enable the additional element 18 to be rotated vis-a-vis a commonly hinged surface element to ascribe an angle of between 10° and 350° relative thereto.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A collapsible escape ladder (1) having rungs (5) of a relatively strong and thin material with integral stand-off projections (6) that allow the escape ladder to be safely descended and of a cross section that allows the escape ladder rungs to nest to a high degree of compactness. The escape ladder is readily deployed by means of a cover (16) having two sets of temporary fasteners. In an emergency, the escape ladder is deployed by partially unwrapping the cover (16) to a first state which allows an attaching member (2) to be removed and placed over a window sill. After insuring that narrow fabric supports (4), which attach the attaching member to the rungs, are not twisted between the attaching member and a top rung of the escape ladder, the multiple rungs (still wrapped by the cover and secured by a second set of temporary fasteners) are supported using a handle (17) attached to the cover. The handle is then held outside the window and dropped. The momentum of the falling package of rungs is sufficient to open the second set of temporary fasteners and thereby reliably deploy the escape ladder in its proper orientation. Also disclosed is a mounting plate, which may optionally be used to stabilize the attaching member (2) to a wall surface beneath a window sill and to ensure that the attaching member (2) will attach securely over any window sill, regardless of the thickness of the wall.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a movable type staircase which serves as an auto safety ladder for people to escape in case of fire, particularly denotes the one which is set at the exterior wall or veranda at various floor levels of a building used as a veranda or staircase in normal times. On emergency, a safety bar (3) which is set beforehand in each floor of a building can be pushed aside to enable the movable staircase (1) to unfold itself and connect rapidly by its own gravity with the veranda or fire exit at the lower floor level, and also by means of the impassive force produced when the movable staircase is being lowered, the safety bar at the next lower floor level will be further pushed aside to again enable the movable staircase to unfold itself and connect rapidly by its own gravity with another still lower floor level and so on, until the various floor levels which are lower than the floor which the user is staying can be connected automatically in a similar way as that which occurs to indoor staircase. It is a staircase which provides a highly safe and automatic means of excape for people at the time of emergency.
Abstract:
This invention is about a method and system of rescue rope ladder for evacuation of the ship and rescuing the people on board in case of an emergency and capsizing of the ship which has the potential to rescue the passengers boarding on a ship in case of an emergency with the manual (5) figure 2 or the automatic drop (4,11) figure 2 of the rescue rope ladder and the passengers' climbing out of the ship which is characterized by: a rope ladder with a base (1,2,3) figure 1.
