The electro-mechanical brake with a differential gear includes a driving unit that generates a rotational force by a power that is selectively applied along with the operation of the brake pedal by the user, a differential gear unit that is connected to the driving unit through a gear and in which a first shaft and a second shaft that are disposed in a straight line to serve as a rotational shaft are rotated in the same direction by the rotational force provided by the driving unit, an external braking unit that is connected to the first shaft of the differential gear unit through a gear to provide a braking power to an outer surface of the disc along with the rotation of the first shaft of the differential gear unit, and an internal braking unit that is connected to the second shaft of the differential gear unit through a gear to provide a braking power to an inner surface of the disc along with the rotation of the second shaft of the differential gear unit. When the driving unit is driven, the rotational force of the driving unit is transmitted to the differential gear unit, and the external braking unit and the internal braking unit that are connected to the differential gear unit simultaneously provide the braking powers to the disc along with the rotation of the differential gear unit.

The present invention is implemented by a gantry binary synchronization block-type brake, which comprises: a gantry bracket comprised by a fixedly connected door-shaped frame; braking arms arranged on both sides of the gantry bracket with lower ends of the braking arms hinged to the gantry bracket; braking shoes connected to the braking arms for frictionally braking a braking wheel; a dual brake releaser secured to the gantry bracket for pushing the two braking arms outward synchronously; braking springs provided on the gantry bracket for pushing the braking arms so as to perform normal-mode braking; and a gap adjustment mechanism for adjusting a working gap between the braking shoes and the braking wheel. According to the present invention, the security risks in an elevator tractor or crane can be eliminated, the gap adjustment approach is simple, and reliability and versatility of an operation are considerably enhanced.

An electric linear motion actuator is provided which can set the clearance during normal braking operation of an electric brake system. The linear motion actuator includes a load sensor (14) for detecting the magnitude of the load with which a friction pad (7) is pressed against the brake disk (2), a temperature sensor (37) for compensating for the influence of temperature on the load sensor (4), and an electronic control unit (50). The electronic control unit (50) is adapted to calculate a target rotational angle (¸) from the position of the electric motor (15) corresponding to the magnitude of the load detected by the load sensor (4) to the position of the electric motor (15) where the clearance is at a predetermined value, and control the electric motor (15) to rotate the electric motor (15) by the target rotational angle (¸).
