Die Erfindung betrifft einen mechanisch selbsttätig arbeitenden Volumenstromregler, insbesondere für raumlufttechnische, von einem Medium durchströmte Anlagen, mit einem eine Wandung aufweisenden, einen Teil eines Strömungskanals bildenden Gehäuse, mit einer im Inneren des Gehäuses auf einer quer zur Strömungsrichtung angeordneten Welle schwenkbar gelagerten Klappe, wobei die Klappe unter Einwirkung des die Klappe anströmenden Mediums gegen eine Rückstellkraft aus einer Offenstellung in eine Schließstellung verschwenkbar ist und bei sich verringerndem Volumenstrom des strömenden Mediums durch die Rückstellkraft wieder in die Offenstellung zurückschwenkt. Um einen Volumenstromregler anzugeben, bei dem auch die Klappenstellung von außerhalb des Gehäuses ohne eine Demontage bestimmbar ist, soll innerhalb und/oder außerhalb des Gehäuses ein mit der Klappe und/oder mit der Welle mittelbar oder unmittelbar verbundenes und sich entsprechend der Bewegung der Klappe ebenfalls bewegendes Anzeigeelement vorgesehen sein, welches zur Sichtkontrolle der Stellung der Klappe von außerhalb des Gehäuses frei sichtbar angeordnet ist.
