    摘要: A radio frequency (RF) laundry dryer (10) includes, amongst other things, an RF generator (20), a drying surface (22), and a Faraday cage (26) enclosing the drying surface (22). The drying surface (22) on which textiles are supported further includes an RF applicator (12) having an anode (14) and cathode (16) coupled to the RF generator (20). At least a portion of the cathode (16) substantially encompasses the anode (14) to electrically shield the anode (14) from the Faraday cage (26) ensuring the formation of an e-field between the anode (14) and cathode (16) instead of the anode (14) and the Faraday cage (26) upon energizing the RF generator (20).

    摘要: A dryer for drying an ink image formed on a recording medium is provided. The dryer includes a selective heating dryer, a uniform heating dryer, and a controller. The selective heating dryer is disposed on an upstream side of a feeding path of the recording medium, and performs a first-time drying of the ink image under an output condition in which an amount of cockling becomes equal to or less than a given amount. The uniform heating dryer is disposed on a downstream side from the selective heating dryer on the feeding path, and performs a second-time drying of the ink image after the selective heating dryer performs the first-time drying. The controller changes the output condition of the selective heating dryer in accordance with image information of the ink image, when the ink image is formed with a conductive-particle-containing ink.

    摘要: A clothes dryer apparatus (99) comprising an electrically conductive, grounded, generally cylindrical rotatable drum (13) having a hollow interior adapted to contain a load (15) of wet clothes to be dried. The drum's (13) exterior surface (27) is partially indented to form one or more integral, generally ring-shaped insulated notches (10). An electrically conductive, generally flat arcuate anode (11) is positioned within each notch (10), with no physical contact between an anode (11) and its corresponding notch (10). Each anode (11) is spatially fixed with respect to the rotatable drum (13), and is electrically isolated from conductive portions of the drum (13). A source (21) of RF power (12), operating at a single fixed frequency, is coupled to each anode (11).
