    摘要: For some time, consumption of produce derived from livestock husbandry and the keeping of domestic animals has led to cases of bacteriological poisoning involving, for exemple, salmonelloses or campylobacter. Since it is suspected that such pathogens are also to be found in and conveyed by the feed given to domestic animals used for food, it is proposed that the feed should be bacteriologically decontaminated before further use. Decontamination can be effected continuously through thermal treatment, i.e. heating and/or cooling treatment. The aim of the invention is to develop a process for the thermal treatment of pourable solid material by the rapid transfer of thermal energy from a thermal medium to the material requiring treatment, a mixing system for carrying out said process, a pourable solid material produced by this process and a facility for the processing, treatment and production of decontaminated plant-based animal feed as thermally treated material. This is achieved by bringing about a rapid transfer of thermal energy from a thermal medium to the material requiring treatment by passing the said material along at least one heat-exchanging surface onto which the thermal medium impinges for a predetermined period, this period lasting at least until the entire quantity of the material undergoing treatment has been brought to a predetermined temperature during a predetermined reaction time.
