Abstract:
The invention relates to a system for locating threats, wherein the system has at least two first sensors 20, 22, 24, 26, said at least two first sensors 20, 22, 24, 26 being spatially at a distance from one another, and said at least two first sensors 20, 22, 24, 26 being designed to detect direction-dependant information, wherein a position of a threat is determined from the direction-dependant information of the first sensors 20, 22, 24, 26. The invention also relates to a method for locating threats using a system according to the invention.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for determining the general direction of the origin of a projectile. At least one sensor (63), having at least three spaced-apart transducers (60, 61 & 62), each being capable of encountering a blast wave generated at the origin of and by a propellant for the projectile, is provided for generating a signal responsive thereto. From the signals, a time relation is measured between at least three transducers when the blast wave serially encounters each of the three transducers. From the time relations, at least one unit sighting vector from at least one sensor to the origin of the blast wave is determined so that the unit sighting vector points in the general direction of the origin of the projectile.
Abstract:
A system ( 10, 80 ) for detecting modulating laser signals having a memory ( 28 ) for storing the occurrences of a plurality of different pulse intervals in accordance with at least one preselected characteristic of the different pulse intervals and outputting a signal when a weighted sum of the number of different pulse intervals counted exceeds a preselected threshold number.
Abstract:
A wearable shooter localization system including a microphone array, processor, and output device for determining information about a gunshot. The microphone array may be worn by on the upper arm of the user. A second array, which may operate cooperatively or independently from the first array, may be worn on the other arm. The microphone array is sensitive to the acoustic effects of gunfire and provides a set of electrical signals to the processing unit, which identifies the origin of the fire. The system may include orientation and/or motion detection sensors, which the processor may use to either initially compute a direction to the origin of a projectile in a frame of reference meaningful to a wearer of the system or to subsequently update that direction as the wearer moves.
Abstract:
According to the invention, two simultaneous images with different wavelengths (λ1, λ2) are formed in synchronism with each illuminance laser pulse, one of the images corresponding to the wavelength (λ1) of the laser pulses, and the difference between the two images is generated.
