One method includes measuring a first air temperature and a first air pressure at a first location in a compressor, measuring a second air temperature and a second air pressure at a second location in the compressor, computing a ratio of specific heats from the first and second air temperatures and the first and second air pressures, and determining an atmospheric water content from the ratio of specific heats. Said compressor is part of an aircraft turbine engine. Said measures water content is transmitted to a weather forecast model.

The invention relates to methods for measuring the sorbate content in substrates, using a sensor with a measuring chamber. Said chamber contains a support medium whose partial pressure of sorbate is determined in order to determine the sorbate content of the substrate. According to the first method, the temperature of the support medium is varied up to a value at which the partial pressure of sorbate in the measuring chamber no longer varies with the temperature of the support medium, and slightly over this value. This partial pressure of sorbate is then used to determine the sorbate content of the substrate. According to the second method, the temperature of the support medium is kept essentially constant and the speed at which the partial pressure of sorbate of the support medium approaches the stable end value is determined. The sorbate content of the substrate is then determined taking into account the known dependency relationship between said speed and the vapour- or solution partial pressure of the sorbate in the substrate. The two methods provide a way of measuring relatively high humidity contents of substrates based on the determination of the equilibrium moisture content.

This invention relates to a method of determining the moisture ratio of timber during the drying of the timber. At a normal drying process, which may be said to comprise a heating, a pre-drying, an after-drying, a cooling and a conditioning phase, the possibilities of calculating a correctvalue of the absolute moisture ratio are minimum. For determining the moisture ratio in timber during its drying it is proposed according to the invention, thatthe drying climate established for normal drying is disturbed during a certain period and the temperature progresses are recorded both during and after the disturbance, and the recorded values are processed in a calculation unit after a predetermined mathematic pattern.

In accordance with the invention the first water in oil solubility coefficient (B) is monitored essentially continuously in order to determine the liquid quality.

Preferably, the composition does not contain any pharmaceutically active ingredients for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Also provided is a method of determining the cooling ability of a test composition, such as the composition described above.

The invention relates to a method for evaluating measurement signals of a mass air flow meter having a mass air flow sensor element, wherein the mass air sensor element has as components a first temperature sensor element, a second temperature sensor element and a heating element, wherein the first and the second temperature sensor elements are arranged at different locations on a surface of the mass air flow sensor element heated by the heating element, wherein a mass air flow to be measured flows over the first and the second temperature sensor elements and wherein the difference of the temperature measurement signals of the first and second temperature sensor elements is produced and, from said difference between the temperature measurement signals, the passing air mass is determined. In order to provide a method for evaluating the measurement signals of a mass air flow meter of the type described above, by means of which a reliable compensation for the humidity error of the mass air flow meter is achieved in a cost-effective manner, the water volume comprised in the air mass is additionally determined from the measurement signals of the mass air flow meter by determining and evaluating the temperature of the surface in at least one location on the surface.
