摘要:
A cathode-ray display for displaying a trace has a memory to store portions of digitised imput signal. An analogue signal is created from the memory and is added to a ramp signal corresponding to the ramp signal utilised to control the field scanning of the cathode-ray display. A further high frequency signal is added to the superimposed analogue signal and ramp signal. The resultant combined signal is supplied to voltage discrimination means which control a switch which, in turn, controls the electron gun of the cathode-ray display.

To increase the percentage of time that an input signal is actively monitored, a digital oscilloscope has an acquisition system (100) that includes an analog-to-digital converter (15), an acquisition memory (40), an acquisition rasterizer (50), and a raster acquisition memory (60). The rasterizer contains circuitry (52) for concurrently rasterizing and combining the results of several acquisitions together and with a stored composite raster image to produce a new composite raster image, while additional acquisition records are being created and stored in the acquisition memory. A display system (220) takes the composite raster images after they contain the results of many acquisitions and overlays these single-bit raster images on a multi-bit raster image that is then decremented to produce a simulated persistence effect. The number of new pixels turned on as a result of each acquisition can be counted during the combining process and used to stop acquisitions, signal the operator, or specially treat that particular acquisition when the number of new pixels created by a particular acquisition exceeds a predetermined value. Acquisition circuitry for multiple channels can be used on one channel to further increase the percentage of time that the signal is monitored.

Apparatus for compensating the injurious increase ofthe cathode current occurring during the initial operation period of a travelling-wave tube when, during successive warming-up, the grid first approaches the cathode and then assumes the nominal distance therefrom. The apparatus includes a distance control device measuring the deviation between the actual grid-cathode distance and the nominal distance and generating a control signal proportional to the deviation for reducing the value of the grid voltage.

A device for displaying an analog signal on a display screen (7) which is scanned by means of a line deflection generator (21) and a frame deflection generator (23). The device comprises a signal processing device (13) forforming a processed signal by repeating the analog signal at the line deflection frequency, a reference voltage generator (19) for generating a reference voltage which is dependent on the frame deflection voltage, and a comparator (17) for comparing the reference voltage and the processed signal and for generating a control signal which causes a brightening of the scanned display screen (7) when both signals are approximately equal. In order to improve the picture quality, the device comprises means (18) for adding a varying auxiliary signal to the processed signal. The frequency of this auxiliary signal amounts to at least ten times the line deflection frequency.

A system for determining which waveforms should be preserved in memory (22) for eventual display by an oscilloscope. An input signal (1) is processed by a rasterizer (14). A pixel counter (15) monitors the frequency of usage of each pixel available for display in the rasterized image, and a unique waveform threshold calculator (24) compares pixel utilization during an image acquisition period. The calculator (24) identifies those waveforms that deviate significantly from the normal input signal waveform (1) and sends them to a scoring processor (21) which assigns each unique waveform (2) a value indicative of the magnitude of its deviation from previous waveforms. The scoring processor (21) also compares the scores of each unique waveform and assigns a ranking to each waveform. The lowest ranking waveform is overwritten in its segment of memory (22) as waveforms with higher rankings are processed.
