Disclosed is a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material comprising at least one silver halide emulsion layer and at least one hydrophilic colloid layer on a support, wherein silver halide in the silver halide emulsion layer has a silver bromide content of 40 to 90 mol %, and the silver halide emulsion layer is spectrally sensitized with a specific dye.

The present disclosure relates to aqueous dispersions of silver (carboxylate-azine toner) particles wherein the azine content of the particles is from about 0.01 to 10% by weight relative to silver carboxylate. The carboxylates are typically silver salts of long chain fatty acids and the azine toners are the compounds that function as development accelerators and toning agents such as phthalazine. These silver (carboxylate-azine) particles can be used to formulate imaging forming compositions that are useful in aqueous thermographic or photothermographic imaging elements.
摘要:
A process for preparing a concentrated photographic spectral sensitizing dye-water composition which comprises adding an anionic sensitizing dye to an aqueous medium in the substantial absence of organic solvent, and agitating the combined dye and aqueous medium, wherein the anionic dye forms a liquid-crystalline dye phase in the aqueous medium and the agitation is performed in the presence of a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of less than 12 and an aqueous solubility at 25°C of greater than 10 ppm, which nonionic surfactant is in the aqueous medium at a level of from 10 to 1000 ppm. In a specific embodiment of the invention, where the viscosity (at 0.1 s -1 shear rate) of the dye-water composition in the absence of the nonionic surfactant would be greater than 100 cp and especially where such viscosity would be greater than 500 cp, the surfactant is preferably present at a level sufficient to substantially reduce air entrainment during agitation of the dye-water composition.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a silver halide photographic emulsion. The process according to the invention comprises the following steps:
a) The preparation of a nucleation medium comprising an aqueous composition based on a hydrophilic colloid and a non-ionic antifoaming agent. b) Nucleation, in which silver halide nuclei are precipitated. c) Growth of the silver halide nuclei to form a silver halide photographic emulsion. d) The reaction of the emulsion resulting from step c) with a material that bears lipophilic functions on its surface.
The method overcomes problems met when using antifoaming agents in preparing a silver halide photographic emulsion.
