摘要： A control apparatus for controlling an image forming system is provided. The image forming system includes transparent toner image forming device configured to form a transparent toner image on a sheet on which a color toner image has been fixed and includes fixing device configured to fix the transparent toner image formed on the sheet. The control apparatus includes an obtaining means for obtaining information of a first part of a color toner image area on which transparent toner is to be applied with a first amount per unit area after the color toner image is fixed, and a control means for controlling the transparent toner image forming device to apply the transparent toner, with a second amount per unit area, on a second part of the color toner image area which is the color toner image area excluding the first part, after the color toner image is fixed. The second amount is smaller than the first amount.

摘要： Provided is a release agent composition useful in an electrophotographic process. The composition is comprised of certain heat-stable grafted silicone interpolymers. The interpolymers have a melting point such that it is in the form of a liquid on a hot fuser roll, but solidifies to a waxy solid at room temperature. The compositions of the invention were found to reduce transparency streaking in wiper pad systems, and when used in felt roll applications, were found to be equal to silicone oil in transmission ratio and transparency streaking. Accordingly, the release agent compositions are especially efficacious in duplex and transparency printing. The release agent compositions of the present invention also exhibit superior release performance and facilitate clean release of toner from fuser rolls in an electrophotographic imaging process.

摘要： Apparatus for applying a release agent to a fuser roll (52) is constructed having a web material (62) impregnated with the release agent. A supply reel (60) is rotatably mounted in a housing and contains a roll of web material for dispensing into the system. The web material is extended across the fuser roll to a take-up reel. An application roller (64) is positioned adjacent to the fuser roll on the opposite side of the web path and is biased against the web material to provide a force to insure engagement between the web and the fuser roll. The supply reel is driven to dispense the web material in a direction consistent with the tangential direction of the surface of the fuser roll.
