摘要: There is a control system suitable for control of an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine having a plurality of objects to be controlled. This system comprises a plurality of control units to individually and independently control those objects to be controlled, a monitor control unit to monitor those control units, and a system bus which is commonly connected to the control units and monitor control unit. The control units time-sharingly and cyclically execute their control operations by time-sharingly occupying the system bus one by one. The monitor control unit operates in parallel with the control units. The control units and monitor control unit are formed on the same semiconductor substrate consisting of, for example, Si or GaAs. The system bus may be a LAN bus or an optical fiber. With this control system, each control unit can execute its own control operation irrespective of an interruption request, so that the processing program proceudre is simplified and a reliability of control is also improved.

摘要: Providing a slave that can precisely measure operating time of an output device that is service information, without having effects on a control system.
To Mix slave 13 connected to a field network 12, an actuator 14 and sensor 15 that detects completion of operation of the actuator are connected. Having a built-in timer, the Mix slave measures time from when OUT terminal to which the actuator is connected turns ON until IN terminal to which the sensor is connected turns ON, by using the timer. Time thus obtained will be operating time of the output device. Comparison of this operating time with a setting will determine whether or not the actuator normally operates.

摘要: A method for operating a controller having a number of timers to thereby control a plurality of events greater than the number of timers, includes, between clock ticks, receiving one or more signals from sensors, switches, executing programs, or a combination therefore that initiate one or more timed events. After a clock tick immediately following the receiving of the one or more signals, the method further includes updating entries in an event control block in accordance with the received signal or signals. The entries include a time remaining for pending events, a time past due for active events (308), and a priority of each event. The method further includes determining whether any pending event or events have timed out, activating any timed out events, and sending a signal notifying an executing program of the activated event having the highest priority.
