This invention relates to a method of displaying history of operation of a machine in order to discover the cause of a trouble and to restore it. Whenever one block of a machining program is read out, a processor (1) of a numeric controller writes the block number in a corresponding address region of a memory (5) and then executes the block. After a block number is written in the last address region, the next block number is written in the first address region. During the execution of each block, the processor (1) detects sequentially any transmission/reception of signals through all the circuits of an input/output circuit (6) and writes the codes representing the circuits which are associated with the signal transmission/reception in the address region of the meory (5) corresponding to the block. As a result, the current block numbers and the codes representing the all associated circuits during the execution are recorded and retained as the operation history. The block numbers and the codes of the operation history are sequentially displayed in order of recording on a display screen (8) in accordance with a display instruction.

During path table operation, date and time information at sampling, the value of the reference signal, the position of an axis controlled in synchronization with the reference signal, and information on the state of the numerical controller are stored, for each predetermined sampling cycle, in buffer as operating history information. The operating history information stored in buffer is then transferred in operating history saving memory when an alarm is generated, and then displayed on a display device. By displaying operating history in this way, the location of the data instructed in path table operation, the state of the numerical controller and the position of the control axis when an alarm is generated can be specified.

A numerical controller is equipped with a check drawing function for drawing an unmachined path based on a machining program and a machining drawing function for drawing a machining trajectory during machining control based on the machining program. The numerical controller calculates a drawing trajectory correction vector which represents an amount of shift in an axial position at which machining is actually performed from an axial position commanded by the machining program, and creates a corrected machining trajectory by correcting a drawing position of the machining trajectory drawn by the machining drawing function, based on the calculated drawing trajectory correction vector. A welding power source including an embedded web server provides access to an operator at a remote web browser, where a user can build a customired operator interface. From the remote web browser, the user is provided access to weld functions, and can selectively choose between weld functions that can be displayed and controlled from the remote web browser. The weld functions that can be accessed include control functions, which allow an operator to activate welding functions such as a jog or purge function; a command function, which allows an operator to provide a command level for a voltage, wire feed speed, or other parameter; and a display function, which provides access for an operator to display welding command and actual feedback values. The operator can also selectively view diagnostic data, including weld state data, error data, and operational voltage and current levels within the power source, such as motor voltage and input voltage levels. After an operator selects parameters to be displayed or controlled from the browser, the selected functions can be stored and recalled as a web page.
