    摘要: Described herein are technologies that provide an element of security related to file system operations. Individual nodes in a file system, such as a directory or a file, can be associated with information that describes how to handle letter case when a file name included in a file system operation request is used to locate a file in the file system. For example, a case sensitive designation associated with a directory can require a case sensitive match between a file name included in a request and a file name included in the directory, in order to perform the requested file system operation. In another example, a case preferring designation associated with a directory first checks for a case sensitive match between file names. If a case sensitive match does not exist, then a case insensitive match between the file names can be used to perform the requested file system operation.

    摘要: The subject matter described herein relates to a file system with adaptive flushing for an electronic device. The file system keeps data in memory much longer and its policy for flushing in-memory write cache to storage is application-aware and adaptive. More specifically, what parts of the cached data are ready for flushing could be determined according to the access characteristic of an application. In addition, when to do flushing can be selected flexibly at least partly based on user input interactions with an application of the electronic device or with the electronic device. Further, a multi-priority scheduling mechanism for scheduling data units that are ready to be flushed could be employed, which ensures fairness among applications and further improves flushing performance.

    摘要: A computer-implemented method is disclosed which comprises the steps of receiving a request for glyphs, the request identifying a font and characters of the font that are required, and searching for at least one superset of glyphs that contain the required glyphs and are absent of other glyphs of the font. The method further operates so that, if at least one superset is found, it returns the or a selected superset in reply to the request. Otherwise, if at least one superset is not found, a superset of glyphs that contain the required glyphs is compiled and returned in reply to the request, and the new superset is stored in a cache. A system configured to perform said method steps is also disclosed.
