Abstract:
A method is disclosed of controlling a motor vehicle entertainment system based upon the occupancy of the motor vehicle (1). The occupancy of the motor vehicle (1) is inferred based upon inputs received from a number of seat sensors (31, 32, 35, 36). The motor vehicle entertainment system includes an entertainment unit (20) including a memory device (25) in which is saved a number of customised playlists based upon vehicle occupant identity. The motor vehicle entertainment system automatically selects a suitable playlist from the number of customised playlists based upon inferred identities of the occupants of the motor vehicle (1).
Abstract:
A primary data storage system and a secondary data storage system are connected with a mesh of network connections during replication procedures from the primary storage system to the secondary storage system. In some implementations, at the primary storage system, file system metadata is analyzed for different subsets of the primary file system to determine changed and/or potentially changed files and/or directories for each subset. Change information is communicated from the primary storage system for a plurality of the subsets to a secondary storage system in parallel to a plurality of network addresses assigned to network ports of the secondary storage system.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and computer program products are provided for generating a playlist. An application programming interface (API) receives a request to generate a playlist, where the request includes a set of rule-primitives. A playlist engine evaluator evaluates a rule corresponding to each rule-primitive in the set of rule-primitives across a catalog of media content, calculates a cost associated with each item in the catalog of media content, and generates a playlist based on the items of the catalog having the lowest costs.
Abstract:
A background music providing method includes storing an audio parameter with respect to background music reproduced while a background music identification mode is being activated, acquiring information on the background music based on the audio parameter when receiving a background music identification command, and transmitting the information on the background music to an external apparatus.
Abstract:
The method comprises the generation of a representation of musical contents which is centred on a first musical content, and a reading of the musical content on which the representation is centred. The musical content on which the representation is centred is read so long as an action is not undertaken by the user. If an action ending the reading of the musical content in progress is undertaken by the user, a new musical content is read. If an action not ending the reading of the musical content in progress is undertaken, the action is taken into account. If the reading of the musical content on which the representation is centred is terminated, a new musical content of the representation is read. The representation is modified with each new reading of a musical content so as to be centred on the new musical content read.
Abstract:
Method and systems are provided for a playback device to play a media item using an audio setting corresponding to the media item and characteristics of the playback device. The characteristics of the playback device may be one or more of a model of the playback device, an orientation of the playback device, or a playback group configuration of the playback device, among other possibilities. The audio setting may be determined specifically for the characteristics of the playback device, by a provider (i.e. an artist and/or producer of the media item, and/or a curator of a playlist including the media item, among others). The media item, when rendered by the playback device, may sound as the provider intended.
Abstract:
A method for creating a single playlist with multiple authors is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a content sharing platform from a first user that is an author of a playlist of the content sharing platform, an indication of a second user to invite as another author of the playlist, the indication comprising an identifier of the second user and permissions corresponding to the second user, sending an invitation to the second user requesting the second user to be an author of the playlist, and when the second user accepts the invitation, storing the identifier of the second user and the permissions as metadata of the playlist, the second user to be allowed to interact with the playlist in accordance with the permissions corresponding to the second user.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented process comprises identifying, by a computer server system, a base topic for a personalized media stream for a user of a computer system; identifying, with the computer server system, a plurality of media items associated with the base topic using a plurality of different and independent categories of media categorization data, wherein each of the categories of media categorization data is assigned a weighting; building a collection of candidate media items from the identified plurality of media items; ordering the collection of candidate media items to form a personalized media stream; and providing the ordered collection of candidate media items for playing to the user.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for generating a landing page for displaying a plurality of displayed media items are provided. A landing page may include a plurality of sections, and each displayed media item may be displayed in a separate section of the landing page. For a first section of the landing page, a first category may be selected from among a set of categories based on a display probability for the first category. Each category in the set of categories may have a display probability. A first displayed media item may be selected from among a first plurality of media items in the first category. For each section of the landing page, a category may be selected from among the set of categories based on a display probability for the each category, and a displayed media item may be selected from among a plurality of media items in the each category.
