Abstract:
The invention is directed to a data collection and evaluation system that includes an active RFID tag for collecting, time-stamping, and storing vehicle sensor data. Examples of the type of data collected include door data, ignition data, oil pressure data, temperature data, speed data, global positioning data, and diagnostic and trouble code data. The system further includes an external data acquisition device, such as a mainframe computer system or a hand-held data acquisition device like an iPAQ. The external data acquisition device includes an RFID interrogator for communicating with the RFID tag, which enables the RFID tag to transmit the time-stamped data wirelessly to the external data acquisition device. The ability of the system to automatically collect and transfer data allows for the automation of fleet management processes, vehicle maintenance and repair processes, and certain security features.
Abstract:
A system and methods for measuring the temperature of an RFID reader module and inserting a delay in the RFID reader's duty cycle to prevent the RFID reader from initiating a thermal shutdown. The system and methods are self-adaptable, therefore incurring the benefit regardless of the design of the RFID reader host and its associated heat sink. The system and methods also provide for archiving the collected data and analyzing the data providing the ability to improve the design of the RFID reader host.
Abstract:
A tracking system for tracking a plurality of items or boxes of items defined a plurality of levels that may be physically and logically organized in a hierarchy. Each level of the hierarchy only communicates with the next hierarchically lower level (if it exists) and/or a next hierarchically higher level (if it exists). The lowest hierarchical level includes a wireless tag coupled to each of the plurality of items. Each of the wireless tags may be configured to provide a unique identifier when queried. Remaining hierarchical levels may each include one or more uniquely identified computing devices that are configured to query the wireless tags or computing devices of the next hierarchically lower level, to store information including the unique identifier and any other information provided by the queried next hierarchically lower level and to provide the stored information to the computing device(s) of the next hierarchically higher level (if it exists). A sealed box or document may form a part of the hierarchy and may include a conductive as a seal mesh coupled to a wireless tag, repeater or computing device that is configured to report the state of the conductive mesh.

Conteneur muni d'un tel dispositif.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An information recording tag contains: an IC module in which a resonance circuit and an IC chip 3 are packaged on a substrate 1 where the resonance circuit has an antenna coil 2 and a film condenser 5; and an adhesive 17 that is applied to the IC module in order to adhere said IC module onto an adherend, wherein an empty portion 18 that is adhesive-free has been formed in the adhesive 17 so as to distinguish an area on the IC module where the area contains the film condenser 5 from other areas on the IC module.
Abstract:
A method for extracting information from a document bearing (a) first indicia detectable in a first scan mode, using light in a first spectral range, but not detectable in a second scan mode, using light outside the first spectral range, and (b) second indicia detectable in either the first scan mode or second scan mode, where the second indicia represent information encoded in one or more forms decodable by automated symbol recognition resources, comprise several steps. One or more areas of interest on the document are defined in which the second indicia may appear, with the definition including information specifying the form of encoding for the second indicia. The document is scanned in the second mode, using a scanner that produces a pixel image of the indicia detected and the resulting pixel data are stored in a memory device. An area of interest is selected from those defined for the document and the pixel image of that area of interest is processed with an automated symbol recognition resource suitable for the form of encoding specified for the second indicia in the selected area of interest to produce one or more output records incorporating symbol information representative of the second indicia.
Abstract:
A measuring device (1) enables a handheld RFID receiver (20) to identify the measuring device (1), initiating measurements and receive measurement data relating to the condition of a rotating member of a machine. The measuring device (1) is intended to be mounted on the outside of a machine with at least one rotating member and the measuring device (1) is intended to measure and communicate measurement data relating to the condition of the rotating member. The device is energized and communicates by means of a magnetic field (21) introduced by the handheld receiver (20). The device (1) is suitable to be used for measurements at inspection rounds at industrial plants.
