    摘要: Disclosed is a music apparatus having a central processor, a method and a machine readable medium for use in a music apparatus, all of which are designed for generating a musical sound according to performance information. In the apparatus, a computerized waveform generator creates a digital waveform by successively computing sample values of the digital waveform. The computerized waveform generator is operated to carry out a trial creation of a model digitial waveform while a measurement of the operation speed at which the trial creation is carried out is performed. An optimal sampling frequency is determined which is comparable to the measured operation speed. According to provided performance information, the musical sound is then generated by operating the waveform generator to compute the sample values at the determined sampling frequency.

    摘要: A system for recording and mixing sound that can concurrently process a plurality of audio input files. The device is based upon a Cyrix class CPU microprocessor mounted on a motherboard with at least about 32 MB of RAM. Two or more logical data reservoirs, each having a storage capacity of at least about 450 MB, are connected to the microprocessor by a conventional system bus. The system is configured so that none of the data files, i.e., the MIDI and the *.WAV files, are stored on the first data reservoir, and that all of the MIDI and *.WAV files, but no other files, are stored on the second data reservoir. Conventional sound and video hardware is also connected to the system via a conventional bus as is a conventional mastering unit. The recording device requires a software operating system effective to support the processing of the audio data files and a conventional audio processing software capable of utilizing both MIDI and *.WAV files (or the equivalent of these files) configured to have a DMA value of at least about 25,000.

    摘要: In each of terminal devices (31-35), there is stored user profile information on the corresponding device. The user profile information includes data identifying the user, type and name of the device, information regarding a CPU, memory and operating system (OS) provided in the device, and information regarding various data and program stored in the device. When desired musical information data is to be downloaded from a host computer (10), a request for downloading optimum data is sent to the host computer (10). This permits efficient loading of data most suitable for system conditions. When data or program is to be loaded from a recording medium, such as a CD-ROM, rather than a communication network, efficient loading is permitted in a similar manner.

    摘要: A musical sound generating apparatus creates a waveform to generate a musical sound according to performance information. In the apparatus, a first waveform generator (21,22) is operable for creating a waveform. A second waveform generator (10) is operable independently from the first waveform generator for creating a waveform. An input device (14) provides performance information. A designating device designates at least one of the first waveform generator (21,22) and the second waveform generator (10) in correspondence with the provided performance information. A controller selectively operates the designated one of the first waveform generator (21,22) and the second waveform generator (10) to create the waveform according to the provided performance information. An output device (23) generates the musical sound based on the created waveform. The second waveform generator (10), the input device (14), the designating device and the controller are integrated with each other to constitute a main part composed of a computer, while the first waveform generator (21,22) alone constitutes a supplementary part which is separate from the main part and which is optionally installable in the computer.
