Disclosed is a rubber composition containing 100 parts by weight of an ethylene-alkyl acrylate copolymer rubber, 5-40 parts by weight of EPDM, 1-40 parts by weight of an α-olefin oligomer, 0.5-4 parts by weight of an organic peroxide crosslinking agent, 0.5-4 parts by weight of an amine vulcanizing agent and 300-1000 parts by weight of a magnetic powder. This rubber composition is a rubber composition blended with much of a magnetic powder which uses an ethylene-alkyl acrylate copolymer rubber having an amine-vulcanizable group as a binder and can be effectively used for a bond magnet for sensors or the like. This rubber composition does not foam during vulcanization forming while being excellent in workability such as mold releasability.

The present disclosure relates to coating formulations for neodymium-iron-boron type magnetic powders manufactured from rapid solidification processes for the purpose, inter alia, of corrosion and oxidation resistance when exposed to aggressive environments. The coating formulation preferably contains an epoxy binder, curing agent, an accelerating agent, and a lubricant. By incorporating coupling agents and optionally, other specialty additives with the magnetic powder and the organic epoxy components, additional oxidation and corrosion prevention, enhanced adhesion and dispersion between the filler and matrix phases can be achieved. This disclosure relates to all such rare earth-transition metal-boron (RETM-B) powders produced by rapid solidification and encompasses both the bonded magnet products that include combinations of the materials mentioned and the application processes.

A ferrite magnetic powder for bonded magnets bonded using a rubber-base resin as binder, which powder is a ferrite magnetic powder containing an alkali earth metal and having a chlorine content of 0.05 wt% or less and a powder pH of less than 6. The magnetic powder is produced by pulverizing a calcinated product of ferrite composition containing an alkali earth metal, annealing the pulverized ferrite composition to relieve crystal strain, dispersing the annealed powder in water and neutralizing it with a mineral acid, adding a dispersant thereto, and subjecting the dispersion to solid-liquid separation followed by vacuum drying to obtain a ferrite magnetic powder having a chlorine content of 0.05 wt% or less and a powder pH of less than 6.

Magnetic materials, such as ferrite, are produced. Mixing the magnetic powder with a thermoplastic elastomer material and a lubricant material using a twin screw compounding extruder forms the magnetic compound. After allowing for a mixing period, the mixed compound is granulated ( i.e. , reduced to small particles). Since the compound utilizes a thermoplastic elastomer rather than a thermoset elastomer material to achieve flexibility, the compound is amenable to further processing by injection molding. Thus the granulated compound is processed by an injection molding machine and the molded parts are afterwards pulse magnetized. Parts may be magnetized during injection molding. This results in a finished, flexible bonded magnet product formed according to complex shape specifications and magnetized in accordance with a variety of magnetization patterns.

A magnetic display sheet of the present invention comprises: a magnet sheet having a magnetized surface, and a non-magnetized surface, which magnet sheet comprises: 400 to 1,900 parts by weight of at least one kind of magnetic particles selected from the group consisting of magnetoplumbite-structure ferrite particles and rare-earth magnet particles, as a filler, and 100 parts by weight of a binder comprising 50 to 95% by weight of at least one thermoplastic elastomer selected from the group consisting of a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer resin, a styrene-ethylene.butylene-styrene block copolymer resin and an ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber, and 5 to 50% by weight of at least one soft polyolefin selected from the group consisting of a propylene homopolymer and a propylene-ethylene copolymer; and a printing paper sheet for being printed on, said paper sheet being bonded to said non-magnetized surface of said magnet sheet. Such a magnetic display sheet is excellent in flexibility, mechanical properties, storage stability and product stability.
