Device for the discontinuous advance of the cam unit (13) achieving the method as above, the eccentric (14) being associated with means (19, 21) to accelerate/decelerate the transport lever (11) which intervene for at least one segment of each individual advance (16) of the cam unit (13) so as to define at least three semi-steps in advance at differentiated speeds, a first semi-step in advance (16a), a third, intermediate semi-step (16b) and a second semi-step in advance (16c), wherein the third, intermediate semi-step (16b) has a reduced speed compared with the first (16a) and second (16c) semi-steps in advance.

The system is applicable to devices with two cam rests, a slow cam rest and a fast cam rest, provided with a temporising element, and centres its characteristics in the fact that the said temporising element 12, assembled on an oscillating lever 24 moves from the inactive position 13 to the active position 14 by means of the intervention of a selection lever 17 and a clutch 21 which swings about an axis 22 stiffened to the lever 17, whereas the opposite movement, the return movement to the inactive position, is determined by the change in position of the selection lever 17 dragging clutch 21 and which in turn releases the oscillating lever 24, or only by changing the position of the clutch 21. This system, applicable to the field of the household appliances, considerably increases programming capacity.

Programmer device of the type called a "timer", which comprises a cams assembly and a timing assembly that determines and conditions the movement of the cams assembly, the timing assembly including a thermostop assembly suitable to halt momentarily the movement of the timing assembly, in which device in parallel with the line feeding the thermostop (40) and comprising at least a thermostop contact (43) there are included in series an additional external switch (145) with normally closed contacts and a first normally open contact (46) associated with a specific cam (47) of the specific established cycle time of which desired parts are to be used.
