摘要: The invention relates to analytical chemistry. In the analyser, mercury placed in a spectral lamp is enriched with a mercury isotope having an even neutron number, wherein said isotope constitutes not less than 50% of the total mercury content in the spectral lamp. Moreover, the discharge cavity of the spectral lamp is connected to a ballast cavity, the volume of which is greater than the discharge cavity volume, and electrical discharge generating means, the discharge cavity and the ballast cavity are designed in such a way that the discharge generated in the discharge cavity does not penetrate into the ballast cavity. A buffer gas in the spectral lamp contains a noble gas in a quantity equal to or greater than 50%, the charge of the atomic core of said gas being not less than 36. Said invention makes it possible to lower the detection level of mercury in a carrier gas and to reduce a drift.

摘要: The invention relates to methods for generating radiation at resonance transitions of metal atoms in mixtures of inert gases and metal vapors that are excited by an arc electric discharge. The technical effect of the claimed invention is raising the efficacy and service life of radiation sources at metal atom resonance transitions, which are excited by a low-pressure arc discharge. The technical effect is achieved due to that, according to a method for generating radiation at resonance transitions of metal atoms in mixtures of inert gases and metal vapors, which method includes exciting mixtures of inert gases and metal vapors by a high-frequency alternating longitudinal electric discharge, a discharge is excited by essentially rectangular current pulses with an off-duty ratio not more than 2.0 and duration not exceeding the efficient life-time of resonance state of the radiating metal atom.

摘要: A high pressure discharge lamp includes a quartz glass bulb, a conductive element which is sealed at a sealing portion of the bulb, and a pair of electrodes. Each electrode is disposed in the quartz glass bulb so as to be opposite the other and connected to the conductive element. A part of each electrode is sealed with the quartz glass bulb at the sealing portion so as to generate a contacting portion formed by the part of each electrode and the bulb. The maximum length, L max of the contacting portion is defined as: L max (mm) ≦ 200 / (P × D); and the minimum length, L min' of the contacting portion is defined as: L min (mm) ≧ 0.8/(D 2 ×π) or L min (mm) ≧ 0.7 whichever is longer, where D is the diameter (mm) of the electrode and P is the power (W) supplied to the electrode.
