摘要： A superconducting electrical machine 1 such as a ship's engine has a rotor 10 and a stator 30, the rotor having superconductive windings 15. The rotor 10 includes an additional normally-conducting winding 55 in parallel to the superconducting winding 15 but not normally connected. In the event of a fault in the superconducting winding 15, the additional winding 55 can take a sufficient current to run the engine to maintain mobility of the ship. Moreover, while this normally-conducting operation is under way, the heat generated warms the cooled engine ready for maintenance.

摘要： When a starting current flows in an auxiliary winding S, a main PTC 12 and an auxiliary PTC 14 generate heat by themselves and the electrical resistance value increases. When the auxiliary PTC 14 reaches 140 deg. C, the snap action bimetal 18 is turned off, and no current flows into the main PTC 12, and starting of the single-phase induction motor 70 is complete. When the snap action bimetal 18 is cut off, slight current continues to flow only into the auxiliary PTC 14 side, and by the slight generated heat, the snap action bimetal 18 is kept in OFF state.

摘要： A synchronous induction motor has a stator having a main winding and an auxiliary winding; a rotor having a yoke, a permanent magnet embedded in the yoke and a secondary conductor provided in the vicinity of periphery of the yoke; and a starter. The starter has a starting capacitor connected in series with the auxiliary winding of the synchronous induction motor, and a switching unit to open/ close a circuit from the starting capacitor to the auxiliary winding. The switching unit closes the circuit from the starting capacitor to the auxiliary winding when the synchronous induction motor is at rest, and opens the circuit after the synchronous induction motor is started. The synchronous induction motor is highly efficient and easy to re-start with low power consumption. The electric hermetic compressor equipped with the synchronous induction motor can perform with the similar effects.
