    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications, and provide a decoding method and a decoder, which are used to reduce decoding complexity. The method includes: receiving a to-be-decoded signal; performing region decision on the to-be-decoded signal according to a region decision rule formed by S region decision formulas, to acquire a region decision result; acquiring N constellation points according to the decision result, where the N constellation points are separately constellation points that are in the N subsets and that are closest to the to-be-decoded signal; acquiring N non-encoded bits corresponding to the N constellation points, and branch metrics between the to-be-decoded signal and the N constellation points; and performing Viterbi decoding based on the branch metrics and the N non-encoded bits, and outputting a decoding result corresponding to the to-be-decoded signal. The present invention is applicable to a signal decoding scenario.

    摘要: System and method embodiments are provided for Trellis Coded Quantization (TCQ) based channel feedback. The embodiments provide full channel state information with a short feedback size to a scheduler in order for the scheduler to apply advanced beamforming schemes, such as those designed in non-linear precoder methods. In an embodiment, a method in a station for providing channel feedback to a transmission point (TP) in a wireless system includes receiving a signal from the TP; estimating channel parameters for the signal; applying a TCQ scheme to the estimated channel parameters to map the channel estimate parameters to trellis codes; and transmitting full channel state information to the TP, wherein the full channel state information comprises output of a Viterbi algorithm (VA) corresponding to the trellis codes.

    摘要: Techniques herein support enhanced multi-rate encoding and decoding of signals in multiple formats. In one embodiment, input data is received at a first device at one of a plurality of data rates. Encoder units are activated to produce streams of encoded input data. The encoder units are configured to operate at the same data rate. Differential encoding operations are performed to produce an encoded output stream. The encoded output stream is modulated for transmission to a second device. In another embodiment, a first device receives an encoded data stream that is transmitted from a second device. The modulated data stream includes encoded data at one of a plurality of data rates. Differential decoding is performed on the encoded data by activating one or more of a plurality of decoder units, where each of the plurality of decoder units is configured to operate at the same rate.
