Abstract:
The embodiments of the present invention provide a charging method, device and system in the field of communications technologies. The charging method includes: learning that a user equipment accesses a network beyond an applicable condition; and charging the user equipment. The embodiments of the present invention also provide an event reporting method and device. The event reporting method includes: obtaining a trigger event of a user equipment; learning that the user equipment fulfills the trigger event, and reporting an event to a gateway device so that the gateway device charges the user equipment for the access to the network beyond the applicable condition. The embodiments of the present invention enable the network operator to charge the user equipment for the access to the network beyond the applicable condition, thereby making it convenient for a user to access the network beyond the applicable condition and providing proper technical support for the charging management of the network operator.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a recharging method for a virtual identity module, and a device. A first recharge request that is sent by user equipment and carries user account information and recharge information is received; a to-be-recharged virtual identity module and a recharge amount are determined according to the recharge information; a second recharge request is sent to an operations support system of the to-be-recharged virtual identity module, where the second recharge request carries the recharge amount and the user account information, so that the operations support system of the to-be-recharged virtual identity module deducts the recharge amount from an account corresponding to the user account information, and recharges the to-be-recharged virtual identity module. Recharging manners are diversified, and a recharging process is more flexible and convenient.
Abstract:
Systems and computing devices may be configured to intelligently and dynamically allocate quotas for the access and use of a telecommunications network by consumers that use a shared balance account. The dynamic allocation of quotas may include computing a total reclaimable quota size value in response to determining that quota may not be allocated to a first consumer from the shared account balance without exceeding a balance threshold, reclaiming all or portions of currently active allocated quotas from a other consumers that use the shared balance account in response to determining that the total reclaimable quota size value is greater than or equal to the minimum quota allocation size, updating the shared account balance to include the reclaimed portions, and allocating quota to the first consumer from the updated shared balance account.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for notification of network events to an Online Charging System (OCS) in a telecommunications network. A network node (700) for use in an Online Charging System (110) in a telecommunications network, the Online Charging System storing charging information relating to service and/or charging for a user equipment, the node comprising: an event determiner (714) configured to determine one or more network events of which the node should be notified; a subscription message determiner (716) configured to determine a subscription message comprising data indicating the determined one or more network events, and configured to control a transmitter (702) to transmit the subscription message to a further node (800) for use as a Policy and Charging Rules Function (100); a receiver (704) configured to receive a notification from the further node (800) that at least one of the one or more network events has occurred; and a charging information updater (718) configured to update the charging information stored in the node based on the received notification.
Abstract:
For a dynamic third party charging applying to a service associated with a communication established by a communication device (CD) of a user, the service being suspended due to insufficient balance in the account of the user, a network element capable of generating charging events: retrieves an URL hosted by an application server, and sending the URL to the communication device that displays a web page corresponding to the URL and inviting user to select a call number, an amount of units, and a type of units, sends a request (ReqUI) to the application server (AS), the request containing the selected call number, the selected amount of units, and the selected type of units in order to rent said amount of units from an account associated with said call number, receives a response (ResUI) from the application server (AS), if the rent is granted, the response containing the selected call number, the selected amount of units, the selected type of units, and an acknowledgment to proceed with the rent, requesting a server for the debit of the account associated with said selected call number by the selected amount of units, and for the credit of the account of the user by the selected amount of units. When balance in the account of the user is filled, said selected amount of units is deducted from the account of the user to credit back the account associated with said selected call number.
Abstract:
Embodiments are directed to creating a persona from observed characteristics of content and to sharing a network persona derived from observed characteristics of content. In one scenario, a computer system observes one set of properties for a first portion of content on a network. The first portion of content is from a first account. The computer system also observes a different set of properties for a second portion of content on the network, where the second portion of content is from a second account. The computer system then correlates an association between the first account and the second account as part of a network persona that is based on the first properties and one or more corresponding properties from the second portion of content.
Abstract:
Charging control may be provided for a charging controlled service accessed by a terminal in a communication network using a first account having a first account balance associated with the terminal. A first request may be received for a charging reservation relating to the first account balance associated with the terminal. Responsive to the first request for a charging reservation and responsive to a first status of the first account balance, a first consumer deduction amount may be reserved from the first account balance to allow the charging controlled service for the terminal. While allowing the charging controlled service for the terminal based on the first consumer deduction amount reserved from the first account balance, a replenishment request directed to a second account balance may be generated responsive to a second status of the first account balance. Related network nodes are also discussed.

Responsive to the replenishment request, a replenishment amount may be deducted from the second account balance wherein the replenishment amount represents a quantity of communication services. The first account balance may be updated based on the replenishment amount deducted from the second account balance. After updating the first account balance, a second request may be received for a charging reservation relating to the first account balance associated with the terminal. Responsive to the second request for a charging reservation and responsive to a third status of the first account balance, a second consumer deduction amount may be received from the first account balance to allow the charging controlled service for the terminal. Related network nodes are also discussed.
