Abstract: A method and device for forwarding a packet are disclosed. According to an example of the method, when a first access device connected with a database server is to be configured with a mirror image rule, an SDN controller transmits a mirror image rule adding message carrying the mirror image rule to the first access device. Where, the mirror image rule comprises an IP address of the database server, a MAC address of a database audit device connected with a second access device and a VXLAN tunnel between the first access device and the second access device. When receiving a database access packet whose destination IP address is an IP address of the database server, the first access device may replace a destination MAC address of a mirror packet for the database access packet with a MAC address of the database audit device according to the mirror image rule and forward the encapsulated VXLAN packet.

Abstract: A method for configuring, via a website, a computing device to communicate with a printer is described. The method includes creating, via the website, a printer definition for the printer. The printer definition includes a network address, a reference to a printer driver, and a reference to a printer profile. The method also includes sending an install uniform resource identifier (URI) associated with the printer definition. The method further includes receiving an indication that the install URI has been activated by the computing device. The method additionally includes sending an installer to the computing device. The installer installs the printer driver and configures the computing device to communicate with the printer using the network address, the printer driver and the printer profile.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided to perform affinity analysis and management of network services. The embodiments use model-driven engineering to capture more generic affinity-based relationships, including between applications and endpoints and between customers and the network infrastructure. In an embodiment method, upon receiving at a network component a request for an application, affinity analysis is performed on the application. A network configuration is then determined according to results of the affinity analysis. The affinity analysis is performed and the network configuration is determined according to business rules defining application and customer priorities. The business rules are defined using a single information model and implemented using at least one data model. The network infrastructure is then configured according to the affinity analysis and the network configuration.

The method includes: receiving, by an ONT, a detection configuration instruction, and configuring a maintenance end point (MEP) according to the detection configuration instruction; configuring a performance detection path from the MEP to the VMEP according to states of the virtual maintenance end points (VMEP) configured on a main node and a backup node, wherein the VMEP includes two virtual MEPs configured on the main node and backup node, the IDs of the two virtual MEPs are identical, at the same moment, the state of one virtual MEP is main, the state of the other virtual MEP is backup, and the main node and the backup node are access aggregation gateways; and transmitting a message to a node corresponding to the virtual MEP with the main state. When the node states of the main node and backup node are switched, the optical network terminal may automatically switch the performance detection path to the node corresponding to the virtual MEP, in order to continue to perform the network performance detection.
