The wireless communications device (10) comprises a user interface (14) configured to receive user input data; a memory (18) configured to store an application module (20); a controller (12) configured to execute the application module (20) to: receive the user input data from the user interface (14); request, from a communications network (30), information indicative of a bearer service selected from a plurality of bearer services to carry the user input data to a Social Networking Service, SNS, server (70) in the communications network (30); receive a command signal from the network identifying the selected bearer service; responsive to receiving the command signal, switch to the selected bearer service; and convert the user input data into one or more messages according to a protocol associated with the selected bearer service; and a transceiver (16) configured to transmit the one or more messages to the SNS server (70) over the selected bearer service.
