    摘要: A method and system are disclosed that enable performance improvements by reallocating to client endpoints at least some of the feature functionality of a server. Each logical user in the system is represented by his own private domain of endpoint entities, from which an endpoint is selected to serve as a super peer to represent the user to the centralized server. Furthermore, one or more endpoints in the private domain of endpoints handle some of the telecommunications features that the server otherwise would have handled. An endpoint that needs to access a particular feature determines the best endpoint to handle the feature, in part by querying the other endpoints in the private domain. If the querying endpoint wants to subscribe to a feature that is located at an endpoint in the private domain, the querying endpoint interacts with the relevant endpoint without requiring the further assistance of a server.

    摘要: Systems and methods are provided for authenticating Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) applications in a User Equipment (UE). A method includes: receiving a first Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) REGISTER message from an IMS application operating on the UE; transmitting a response message to the IMS application based on the received first SIP REGISTER message; receiving a second SIP REGISTER message from the IMS application operating on the UE; determining authentication for the IMS application based on the received second SIP REGISTER message from the IMS application operating on the UE; and based on the step of determining authentication for the IMS application, if the IMS application is authorized, then transmitting information associated with the first and second SIP REGISTER messages toward a SIP node or if the IMS application is unauthorized, then discarding data associated with the first and second SIP REGISTER messages.

    摘要: A communication system comprising a local network node (LNN) is described for connecting with a user terminal in a 3G network. The LNN provides a local user-controlled access point for the network that may be installed in the home or office by-passing connection through network Node Bs. If the User passes outside the coverage area provided by the LNN, then a handover between the LNN and an appropriate Node B preferably takes place so that the User's connection to the 3G network is substantially unaffected. The LNN is arranged to provide protocol conversion between the 3G control messages received from the UE to the equivalent SIP/SDP messages required for maintenance of connections in Internet Protocol based networks, such as the Release 5 architecture.
